"Our family of 4 (2 teenagers) stayed for a couple of days between Christmas and New Year. The first thing that stood out was how welcoming and Christmassy the house felt. The house was decorated throughout with fun and cozy Christmas decor and it really helped to extend our Christmas spirit! Our hosts also thoughtfully left some Christmas sweet treats for us to enjoy (which we did - thank you). Beyond that, the house was incredibly well-appointed, with everything you could hope for in the kitchen and games galore for our family to enjoy. The welcome book contained a helpful guide to the house and surrounding area. It was a short 5 minute walk to the lake and the local shops were about a 15 minute drive away. Our hosts were very communicative and check-in was super easy. The only negative was that the couches smelled really strongly of fabric scented spray - probably because this is a dog-friendly rental which is understandable. We would love to return and spend more time exploring in warmer months and we would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to explore Lake Cushman."

"We visited in November. The view is stunning!! It was so quiet and beautiful. A perfect retreat. The kitchen was updated and has all the pots and pans you need. The beds were comfy with lots of pillows and warm comforters. Stop and get firewood on the way for the fireplace, it made the living room super cozy. WiFi works great, tvs are set up for streaming. The road can get very dark so make sure you read all of the directions so you don’t miss the turn. We saw otters from the deck, so keep an eye out. A few things that could be improved—*The house was cold when we got there. Having the heat on would have been nice.*Living room furniture could use an upgrade. It’s not very comfortable.*As others have said, the blinds need to be fixed. We wrestled with them every day. *The main bedroom toilet runs*The house is huge and can fit way more than 6 people comfortably (it has 7 beds). The driveway can fit more than 2 cars. It caused us some complications as people were driving in from different places and we needed to park more than two cars, and there’s nowhere nearby to park. All that said, we look forward to returning. The view and the forest are incredible."

"This is a great house, right on the canal. Cute and cozy inside. The "captain's bed" is so comfortable. Stayed here several times."

"Absolutely gorgeous. The home gave us everything we could need. Very well furnished, we were able to cook all our meals with the quality kitchen providions and utensils. The beds were comfortable and linens and comforters were warm and light. View gave us gorgeous sunsets and sunrise while watching otters play and the seals played peak a boo. Endless supply of towels to enjoy a swim in the water or relax in the hot tub. Amazing supply of various movies, books and games to play when the sun goes down. Had no idea of the oysters to pick, and cook on the nice BBQ on the deck. We will be back as this retreat gave us relaxation, rejuvenation and mind and body rehabilitation. Loved!"
