Great ocean view from the hot tub. They allowed our 2 pit bulls. That’s about all the compliments I can give. You can’t polish a turd. The price of this place should be at least half of what it is.

If I could rate it zero stars, I would. Impossible to check in — no signage, especially troublesome at night. Stuck in the 1980s, you get one actual key versus a couple key cards. VERY thin blankets, so to combat the cold, they just turn the heat up to the level of the Sun before you arrive. No typical hotel/motel extras, including even a phone to contact the “front desk” for any problems. Who even knows where the front desk is, because again, no signage. I’d usually say you get what you pay for, but considering the Seagull’s price is not much different than that of other more reputable hotels in the area, you DON’T get what you pay for here. Don’t waste your money, its proximity to the beach is not worth the trade off. This is my first review EVER after years of staying at various hotels picked through Expedia. Normally, you get what you get and just deal with it, but the difference between what is shown and advertised for the Seagull vs reality is enough to make your head spin.

Broken ice machine, two big lipstick marks on the mirror we had to request to get cleaned. On first floor with a shared deck out back and the curtain didn’t cover the whole window. No towel hangars in the bathroom. On line pictures don’t show conditions of rooms, poor paint, broken USB outlets on nightstand lamps, front door wouldn’t close or open without putting a shoulder into it due to rubbing on trim. Baseboard trim not kept, beat up and not painted.

The staff was really nice, the hot tub was hot and a good size. Just wish it was a little more private. The hot tub was right in front of the communal deck. Wasn’t bad though. And had a great view. And I’m not sure if someone did it on purpose , but they through all of their chips right on the deck by the hot tub. So a ton of seagulls were around and swarming…

The staff really tried to go above and beyond, they even provided an after hours number if we needed anything. The ice machine happened to be broken, but they had it covered, offering to bag ice from a freezer; which was really nice. This was our second time staying at this location, you can’t ask for better proximity to the beach. It was our first time getting one of the hot tub patio rooms. The hot tub was clean and well maintained hot and ready for us when we arrived, such a great amenity.

I chose this inn specifically for the personal hottub included with the room. When we got there the hot tub was cold and we were unable to use it. Very disappointed. Furthermore, I have been struggling to get in contact with anyone to remedy the situation.
