This is a wonderful cozy cabin and property at the end of a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. Perfect for getting away from the world and relaxing. The field next to the property is owned by the property owners and was fantastic for star gazing and observing nature. The owners allow dogs and are very quick to respond to all inquiries. there is a great place to eat nearby call The Apple House, that is also a fun novelty store with all sorts of neat and interesting things to see and buy. There lots of vineyards in the area to check out as well. We absolutely loved our stay here an highly recommend staying at this cabin.

The layout of the cabin is really cute! We loved having tea on the back porch after a day of hiking. We were able to pick up the Appalachian Trail close to the cabin, convenient and fun! The neighborhood is very quiet and feels quite remote. It's beautiful at nighttime in the cabin's adjacent field.The owner was very responsive and provided helpful information about the area. The cabin was clean in the essential areas, but obviously had not had it's "Spring Cleaning" yet. Unfortunately the front porch had not been cleaned or straightened up for a long time and was unusable. Also, there is poor to no bedside lighting options in the downstairs bedrooms. The owner said he intends to repair/replace. There are no kitchen towels, and limited bath towels, so be sure to bring your own or be ready to do laundry.

Peaceful

A very quiet and relaxing stay. Loved going for walks with my dog and not seeing another person or car around. Could use a new shower curtain as it had mildew on the bottom which was gross. Towels are quite thin. Bring soap for the shower. Kitchen has all the essentials. Couches and beds are comfy. Enough blankets for a cozy sleep. Overall a great stay and would recommend this house to others.

Weekin the woods

This is a great property for getting away from it all. The cabin is roomy and there is not another building in sight. Very peaceful surroundings. The picture of the loft room, does not do it justice, the room is larger than it appears in the picture. The place was spotless. The host gave us some recommendations for local dining and shopping, and even a complimentary bottle of wine, from the local vineyard. Definitely the perfect place for a relaxing get away.

Feels like "coming home"

This is now the 4th time we have rented this property! We LOVE it so much! The property is well maintained, clean, and homey. And the owners are very responsive to questions that may arise while staying (... like if you get lost finding a trail :) ). It is a perfect place to unplug (though they have everything necessary to stay plugged in if you want to) and enjoy a tranquil setting for reading, playing games, bonfires, hiking, and naps!

Great respite from DC for the Memorial Day weekend. The cabin and property are beautiful and Front Royal is only a 20-30 min drive away.

Perfect secluded cabin!

This cabin is well equipped for everything you would need for a fabulous woods get away. The owners are totally responsive and helpful. The porches were our favorite place to sit and chat or listen to nature. Front Royal was a fun day trip with its cute Main Street of shops and food/drink spots. We hope to return again some day.

Nice mountain cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at this remote cabin. In the warmer months I'm sure it is just wonderful to sit on the front porch with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.

Piedmont Classic

We loved the cabin!! We were there for the Piedmont Classic to watch our Granddaughter compete. The location was perfect to come back to after the day to rest and relax. The owners were great!! Anytime we had a question they answered very promptly and always ended with if there is anything else we can help with please let us know. They even congratulated us on our granddaughter making it to the Piedmont classic. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a very quiet, comfortable place to relax and enjoy nature

Treated ourselves to weekend in the country!

Among the many excellent parts of our weekend were: hiking the Appalachian Trail (twice), waking up to amazing bird songs on a foggy morning, and apple donuts at a nearby-ish family run restaurant. A perfect combo of tranquility and activity for family including one 12-yr old kid and two dogs. We all loved it.

Family weekend getaway!

This cabin was a perfect getaway for our family! The kitchen is beautiful! The house is very clean! The owners make sure that you have everything you need to make your stay complete! We went hiking at Shenandoah National Park. We also enjoyed the fire pit!

Girls trip

Place was just as described and communicated to us. We got a storm while we were there and they had the drive way played and informed us we could venture out. I would recommend AWD or 4WD if there is a storm.

Cozy Stay in the Misty Mountains

Quiet, remote, cozy property. Well-maintained and nicely appointed fixtures and kitchen gear. We had fun cooking, meandering around nearby on foot, and reading on the comfy couches. Skyline Drive, wineries, and many hikes nearby.

Well maintained and cozy

The cabin is adorable, well maintained and quite cozy. The cabin is surrounded by several acres of cleared land, where my dogs enjoyed running, playing ball and chasing each other. There was a cold spell while I was at the cabin and was impressed - the flooring was warm and the bedding was light-weight, yet kept me nice and warm. Coming from Florida, I appreciated that the house was very well insulated. The kitchen has high-end appliances and quality pots and pans. It is a very nice kitchen. Under "Location and Neighborhood" I only gave the rating of 3. The neighborhood is awesome and all neighbors are friendly and helpful. The 3 is because of the location. The cabin was MUCH deeper in the woods than I imagined, roads much worse and GPS was often confused! I do recommend this property for folks looking for a nice vacation. Kevin and Rebecca were easy to contact and quick to respond to things that popped up.
