"The dome itself was lovely and well situated on the water. The bed was uncomfortable, but the linens were clean. I was very disappointed in the facilities. I have no issues with using a pit toilet, however you must provide some running water for guests. The only way I was able to fill up water bottles was to ask the people at the lodge to go into the kitchen to fill my water bottles. I was also incredibly disgusted by the showers at Cabot Shores. "Great stay at this Motel. The manager/owner was super friendly and kind checking us in with a welcoming smile. The room was very comfortable and modern but shows some minor signs of aging but not a big deal. The beds were comfortable and we really appreciated an excellent breakfast which included eggs, sausages, hash browns, toast, cereal, yogurt and pancakes!!!. So great to be able to have this then get underway to continue our journey. It is only 10 mins from Baddeck where lots of activities were taking place. Be sure to take in the Baddeck Gathering Community Ceilidhs at the community hall at 6 Margaree road in town. They are so fun!!!"

"Great room, very spacious and in good condition. It looks like they may have had a fairly recent renovation. The bed was very comfortable and the area very quiet (except for the howling wind)! Only gave it a 4 star for cleanliness as I found some used tissues under the nightstand which precipitated me to look under the bed. I could see a few things underneath and a layer of dust. However the rest of the room appeared to be clean. Despite this, I would still recommend staying here."

"Great location, an easy walk to restaurants etc. Staff was very helpful and gave us a thorough orientation, including to the Cabot Trail, upon checkin. In-house restaurant looked lovely, but we ended up not going there because we got back too late (and it does look a bit pricey). The rooms were comfortable but we moved some small furniture items around so we had a place to set our bathroom things and had sufficient nightstand space."

"The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Since no breakfast included, a coffee maker would have been nice. Main complaint was how long it took to warm up. Our stay was on a chilly October night and the room was freezing. Took us a moment to get the heater working, Luckily we had sleeping bags to add to the bed, by morning it was comfortable."

"Amazing and fun experience! We got to see the stars! Bathrooms beside the domes were new or finishing construction. Due to the cold, rainy and very windy conditions (overnight low of 4 celcius) the heater was on high but it was a very cold (12 degrees in dome) through the night. Suggest not a fall experience. Hot tub and fire pits available as well."
