This lakehouse has so much potential, unfortunately, it also needs a lot of attention. Positives: great AC, spacious, comfortable bed, great for kids. Negatives: very dirty. Floors, kitchen plates, cups that were in the cabinets were dirty. So many things were broken: door handles, blinds, dishwasher, dryer, shower head in side house, arcades weren't working, pool table with missing balls and half working sticks, pool chairs. Safety is big for me, especially with children, and only 1 of 2 locks, on both front and back doors worked. Pool was dirty, floor was very slippery and chemicals were not balanced. I would NOT stay here again.

⸻DO NOT STAY HERE – This property is infested with bed bugs and roaches. I immediately notified the owner and was told to just use spray from under the sink (seriously?). These aren’t “just a few bugs” – this is a dirty, unsafe, and unsanitary environment.I’ve lived in Texas for years and have never dealt with roaches or bed bugs until staying here. We booked in May after checking reviews, but only after arriving (past midnight) did we discover bed bugs. Later, I saw that other recent guests have reported the same issue.Neither the owner nor VRBO have done anything about this, and it’s clear they continue to rent the place out knowing about these problems. Unsafe. Unsanitary. Avoid at all costs.

DO NOT STAY - BED BUG INFESTED

WARNING: BED BUG INFESTATION – HEALTH & SAFETY RISK!We booked this property for my mom’s 50th birthday. Night 1, my mom, nephew, brother, and 4-year-old son, all sleeping in the game room, woke up covered in painful bed bug bites. We sent the owner photos of the bugs and bites. Hours later, they offered only 250 and a “touch-up clean”.Bed bugs require professional extermination treatment, not quick cleaning. Instead of enjoying my planned vacation, I spent my time buying medication for my family and trying to get the owner and VRBO to care and help us find a solution. My mom slept on the living room couch for her 50th birthday since the game room and those beds were off-limits. Our luggage is still “cooking” outside weeks later, terrified of bringing the infestation back into OUR homes.We discovered a review from 2023 describing the exact same bed bug infestation, so the owner clearly knows, yet continues to lie to guests and take their money and putting our children at risk.We didn’t want to leave since we had used our PTO and spent our hard-earned money, but the 3 remaining nights were not to listing expectations and what we agreed to. They made no effort to relocate us, and we believe the other 3 nights (75% of our stay) should be refunded. The owner still refuses to do the right thing. We will be pursuing legal action. This is a serious health and safety hazard.DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY AT RISK!-Natalia
