Willy the receptionist that welcomed us was great. once we got to the reception center there were parts of the ceiling falling in buckets for collecting leaking roof water. the elevators seems dangerously outdated dirty and smelly. we got to the room walking on run down dirty carpets passing peeling paint on the wall. In the room there were no towels the sink facet water was a spray of a dribble, the shower not much better. The room took forever to warm up and the bathroom never warmed up enough to take a shower.. using the extra blankets- they were dirty and smelly oh and NO towels the night receptionist when told of these issues did not offer anything except some not very absorbent towels.

A hotel without even a plastic wrapped cup in the bathroom? Morning shower didn't drain. I did not even see a notice about finding morning coffee in the lobby. Overall, not well maintained.

This stay was awful!! The room was freezing cold, there was no outlets in the room to charge both of our phones, the bathroom was literally in a closet!! If my first stay was like this I would’ve NEVER went back!! Bad enough they use it for a shelter so I’m paying to stay where others are staying for free and they don’t know who is who so some people working there talk to you rudely especially a person there calling himself the director

This hotel is at best odd and at worst incredibly cheaply run. Our room was dirty, with sticky wood floors, an AC unit in the closet, DARK brown water coming from the sink and tub when first turned on, crooked pictures covering up cracks, stains, and water damage on the walls. We had no mini fridge, no bedside table, no outlets next to the bed on either side, no hand towel or wash cloths in the bathroom. This was supposedly a “queen suite” but it was cramped and untidy. I would not recommend this hotel and I would not stay again. I only gave three stars because the gentleman running the desk overnight was very kind. The two guys who were at the front desk in the morning were more interested in drinking coffee and looking at their phones/computer than assisting us. Also they were both wearing sweats and looked unprofessional, I wasn’t even sure they worked there.

The property served its purpose as far as being close to a venue I needed to attend. The lobby floor had several beverage spills on it and the bathroom had one towel and when asking for more, it took 3 attempts to get both the proper number and clean items. The temperature in the room was difficult to adjust and the room itself was tight and confining.

We needed a place to sleep and call home base. One of the towels in the bathroom had been used but when I requested additional towels, they were provided. The sink had a lose handle but still functioned. The body wash container was rusted and broken. No soap was provided for hand washing at the sink. Bathroom vent was full and needed to be cleaned. Water pressure was great, lots of hot water for showers. Few leaks in the lobby from rain which took away from appearance. No parking, rode around for quite awhile searching for parking. All times we were a few blocks away. Close to LIRR and amazing restaurants (Jordan's, Lindell's, Laurel).

First of all, I did not get the room that I had requested the property was very old and rundown no lamps in the room to have a dim light. The overhead lights was too bright. . Then to make things worse this morning I pay the hotel cash for my payment then woke up this morning and they charged my card again. Went to the receptionist for explanation, which he is the person that charge me wants to give me the runaround. there is no way I would ever go back to that hotel again.

No heat in the room. Noisy place, Antiquated tiny elevator. Steep stairs. There is a restaurant in many of the pictures. It is closed. The guest room they took pictures of does not exist. Tear the entire building down and build a modern hotel. It would make money.

Saturday night wedding reception meant noise and unattended children in the room across the hall. Parking is on the street so good luck finding a spot. It was cold and the windows were very drafty. Stayed here because of the close proximity to family but will go elsewhere in the future.

THIS IS A REAL HOMELESS SHELTER. DO NOT STAY. I would give negative 5 stars for this hotel if it wasn't for the front desk staff , This hotel is occupied by low income, homeless and section 8 people. We saw "questionable" people hanging around in the lobby area. I thought it was strange but didn't think too much. Our first room was filthy and outdated. It was homeless shelter that I extremely over paid. The water in the shower was brown, Furniture was fit for Goodwill. Hallway was the scene from the horror movie with stains and holes. The whole floor smelled of food like someone was cooking. One of the rooms had a Christmas wreath inside the door. I don't think a hotel guest will hang it. I should've known then. This ish't a hotel but someone's residence. The heater didn't work in December. Remote for the cable box was missing. We heard foot steps all night. I thought they were renovating the room, It was so loud we couldn't sleep. I went upstairs next morning and heard kids running around and screaming Their mom was yelling to shut up with the music in the background. I was so nauseated. I paid high price to stay at a homeless shelter. Second day, I went to the front desk to switch the room. I explained about the issues I had the night before. The clerk said he knew exactly what I meant and he would notify the "guests". I did ask if they had long term guest. He said some stay there for a coupe of weeks between apartments.

Long Beach is beautiful. The hotel is a block from the beach and boardwalk. The bar is open late and the drinks are strong. The rooms are pedestrian. Parking is terrible.

This stay wasn’t as comfortable as my last stay and I added a extra day hoping for the treatment the last visit but no luck, room was uncomfortable and there was plastic on the bed which was almost unbearable to lay on and sleep with the sound of plastic beneath you on a hard mattress.

This was a last minute emergency need to stay local and this was available. Heat didn’t work well, low water pressure, people in room above walking around all night n moving furniture on wood floors. Limited amenities and no charging stations for phone. Nothing at desk either. Seems it is being used for emergency housing as well. Person at desk was very nice and the bed was actually comfortable. But you get what you pay for.

Didn’t like the place at all. This place was a joke. I booked for ocean view as it was said on the booking website but not. Place was dirty, bathtub was pilling off, room smells weird. I should’ve been booked the $50 more hotel just in front of the ocean. I should’ve been followed the reviews this hotel has. Never again. Not recommended.

The LBH is about 100 years old and has obvious wear as any property would but the hotel staff, location & other guests were fantastic. This was my 2nd stay her in about 6 months and is the place I go to when I am in the Long Beach area. Yes there is another hotel right on the boardwalk that is newer but it is 3X as expensive and doesnt have the old world Long Beach charm like the LBH does. I will continue to stay at this hotel when I am on Long Island!

Good location. Totally outdated hotel.
This hotel is a lottery between bad room and very bad room. Outdated hotel. Not worth what they charge. Ok for 1-2 nights of stay, but for a long stay better look for something else. If you don’t like strange people look for something else, because this place is full of them. Very deceiving pictures and descriptions on any website you’ll book on this place, so don’t trust what you see and what you read. The only accurate description about this hotel is its location.

Lots of mold in air conditioner, dirty bed sheets and pillows which are covered in hair and dust, floors were uneven due to bumps in the floor. Cold rooms paint chips falling off walls. Fowl smell. Bugs in light fixtures

This hotel would be for someone who appreciates an old building and it's character. If you are wanting to feel comfortable or get a good nights sleep, this place is not for you. I wish I could share pictures of how the door frame and door were so mismatching there were 1" gaps at the top and bottom corners. The room was tiny. The bed, particularly the pillows, were uncomfortable. I could hear people being loud all night long. Did not sleep a wink and checked out early because I could not stay another night. As I was checking out, there was a couple in front of me doing the same. All of their complaints to the staff mirrored how I was feeling, so I didn't feel the need to dump more on the poor women behind the counter. The staff was very friendly throughout our entire stay and I know the condition of the hotel is not their fault. The woman behind the counter politely suggested to the couple complaining that they leave feedback on their website. I think the underlying message was "there isn't anything I, personally, can do to correct these issues, but if you leave a web review it will have a more meaninful impact." I won't be going back. I will add that the elevator is very old-timey. I choose the stairs because I was too afraid to get on that elevator. As I was leaving, I took a picture of it and another hotel guest commented to me, assuming my picture was in admiration, that the elevator was really cool. So I will say some might love the character of the hotel.

Noise wise the walls are paper thin, you could hear the people speaking in the room next door. Cleanliness wise there was hair on the “clean” towels and there was clear water damage spots on the ceiling. Safety wise the deadbolt on the door didn’t even line up with the latch so it wasn’t of any use.

Rude staff, dirty property and carpet was filthy/ripped & property was not maintained… dirty toilet paper in hallway left over night. Room had hair in sheets and bathroom!!! Along with used q tips in freezer???? Door deadbolt was broken & door didn’t shut properly at top of frame. Zero water pressure or hot water. Homeless people roaming around lobby, no parking. Literally not one thing was okay with this place. I would not stay if it was free or they paid me too. I asked for second night to be refunded before it started but they wouldn’t refund me. The shower products were in disgusting dirty old bottles & the soap container literally looked like it was chewed on
