Welcomed by a ripper of a bloke Paki from New Zealand. Made us feel more than welcome. The property was fine for us and I had no problems with it however on the down side you need to be fit to climb the hill to the cabin unless you use your car all the time. The setting was perfect nestled into the hillside with a caravan park either side. A river runs close by and the ocean can be heard easily. You are surrounded by gum trees so nature on your door step.

My first stay in an eco tent, and it could not have been happier or more comfortable in its simple, no-fuss way. The view over the valley and birdlife provided constant pleasure, added to in the early evening by kangaroos nd the bush track below. A true retreat.

My partner and I stayed at the cottages and had the best time! The location is in a perfect spot, literally walking distance to the main part of Lorne and close to everything you need. The cottages themselves are also so nice, very clean and well equipped. The general manager (paki) is also the biggest legend and made the stay so easy for us. Would definitely reccomend and we will be back!

My friends and I loved our stay at the cottages! Paki was super friendly and helpful, our cottage was cute and it felt like we were on a treetop escape! Such a great location too, parked the car then could walk everywhere!

Beautiful gardens and outlook, really quiet and private. The cottages are willing distance to the town and beach and have everything you could need for a relaxing stay. We'll absolutely be back!

nice staff but very unclean cottages

Simplicity is fine as Kong as everything is clean. This cottage was definitely not clean. I would not come back here. The reception was very nice though, and very personal and friendly.

So much character!

Fantastic cabin and awesome location - quick walk into town. Really comfy beds and the mezzanine was fun for the kids. Paki and the team were lovely - friendly, helpful and so very welcoming. Definitely need a return visit here!

The property is located within a walking distance to all that Lorne has to offer. A quick drive will get you to experience some amazing walks, ending with refreshing splashes of waterfalls bouncing of your face.

The garden/bush setting of Great Ocean Road Cottages makes it feel like it is further away from the town that it really is. Mostly we could hear birds rather than cars or people. It was very peaceful. But it is only a few minutes walk to the main supermarket and 5-10 minutes to the beach and main shopping/restaurant area. My only caveat is that a couple of the beds in the family cottages are on a mezzanine level with steep stairs, which would not be suitable for everyone. If you only plan to use the downstairs double bed this will not be an issue.

By far the best hospitality that I have ever recieved. The general manager was incredibly accommodating and very much cared about our experience. After talking for a few minutes, he gave my wife and I a bottle of wine. Place is very cute, cozy. Heaters worked great, no issues with wifi, hot water was plentiful

Relaxing

The experience was excellent over apart from walking into room that smelt like curry due to microwave not being cleaned. To their credit this was rectified promptly and the rest of the stay very enjoyable, staff helpful, room comfortable and surrounds peaceful and relaxing.

Picturesque location

Great scenery and the sulphur crested cockatoos are fantastic. The cabins are great and comfy too.
