Bedroom and Bathroom smelled like feces - could not sleep in the bed because it smelled so bad in that room. Had to replace key card over 10 times in a 3 night stay resulting in countless trips to the main office where the staff was unhelpful and condescending. Got locked out of my room countless times because of this even after staff had promised to send a maintenance man to fix the door (who never came). Breakfast was overpriced and the food was poor quality for the price we paid. Only positives: room had a nice view of the ocean and the hot tub was nice. I would not recommend this hotel to any friends.

I had a short stay, but overall, it was great! I want to thank Elena (from Taxco) for the warm welcome and smooth check in! I was also pleasantly surprised to find out I was upgraded to a bigger room for booking with Expedia. Best part was being able to watch the sunset from the beach, right off Solmar. The beach isn't swimmable but there are two pools - one that's quiet and less crowded and one with a pool bar and loud music. Perfect to lounge, depending on your mood. The hot tub didn't work properly the last night I was there, but at least the water stayed somewhat hot. Would stay again!

We booked a one bedroom suite and it was incredible. It had two bathrooms and one of them had a huge tub. We were fortunate to get an ocean view. It was quiet and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and hope to return some day!

Los servicios del hotel fueron excelentes y la experiencia, en general, muy buena y cómoda. La habitación que nos asignaron fue uno de los mayores aciertos, ya que estaba ubicada a pocos pasos de la alberca, el jacuzzi y la playa, lo cual hizo la estancia mucho más práctica y agradable. El personal se distinguió por su amabilidad, cortesía y atención en todo momento. Viajábamos con una persona de la tercera edad y siempre mostraron una actitud muy considerada, paciente y cercana con ella, lo cual se agradece mucho. No obstante, observé que algunos meseros brindan una atención preferencial a huéspedes extranjeros, posiblemente por el tema de las propinas en dólares. Entiendo el contexto, pero en ciertos momentos la diferencia en el trato resulta bastante evidente. En términos generales, es un hotel recomendable para descansar un par de días. Cuenta únicamente con tres restaurantes, por lo que sería importante que actualicen y respeten los horarios. Al hacer el check-in se entrega una hoja con los horarios de cada restaurante, pero estos no coinciden con la operación real. Además, a partir de las 10:00 p.m. todo cierra, por lo que ya no es posible comer ni beber, incluso contando con el paquete todo incluido, lo cual puede ser un punto a considerar. Es un hotel adecuado para estancias cortas y para quienes planean complementar su viaje realizando tours fuera del hotel.

I never use hotel pools (which is why I never had a Chlamydia infection); however, the pools looked exceptionally clean, beautifully laid out into the landscape, and with only a few people inside and on the surrounding decks. Our rooms were spacious (two-room suite) and clean with a sufficient partial view of the Pacific Ocean. I want to remark that our hotel (Solmar Resort) is actually the little brother of the adjacent Gran Solar luxury hotel, and yet all the amenities of the latter can be used by the Resort guests (for a fraction of the per-night cost). This is really a great deal! Moreover, the two properties are enough removed from the off-putting hustle of Cabo proper, while only a 10 minute walk away. There is remarkable security around the properties and especially at the entrance to the grounds.

Solmar is always great! Though the resort is older it is really well maintained and any issues that arise get resolved quickly. The staff is great, from trip to trip they remember you and in short time they are anticipating your requests. Huge shout out to Arturo, Gerardo, and Omar’s pool service, it’s where we spend most of our days. The entire Tejaban staff is amazing, too many names to list. We took advantage of the spa, Lupita and Cruz gave amazing massages. You really can’t go wrong at this gem of a resort.
