This home sits up on a little knoll across the street from one of the few great swimming beaches in the area. It is situated at the end of the road in the quaint fishing village of Bucaro. Staying here gives you vehicle access to 3 kilometers of otherwise inaccessible beach on Playa Ostional. The house has high ceilings and is open and airy.
Below the house we have a half basketball court. Ask Cristina for the basketball. In the patio we have a ping-pong table. The paddle and ping-pong balls are in a bag in the cabinet over the fridge.
The entire home is accessible except for the office, the room off the garage and the cabinets in the garage which we use for storage.
When we rent out the entire house, it is because we are not there and Christina will be your host. When we are there, we just rent out the second room or the room off the garage, whichever you prefer, and the common areas of the house are shared.
Bucaro is a quaint fishing village. There are a couple places to eat and drink, the best of which is just a short walk.
Public transportation is limited to a bus that comes to Bucaro three times a day and taxis. Unless you are just going to stay close to the house, a rental car is recommended.
The house has a solar system with battery backup. This is important because much of Panama, including this area, has a problem with power outages. Also, the house has a smart TV on which you can see things from the internet such as YouTube but not cable or satellite. Important Note: Yes, we have internet BUT when the power company's power fails, the internet goes out even though the house has lights, fans and fridge. We are told that by April we will have fiber optic and then the internet won't go out during power failures. For now, the internet we have fulfills most needs, BUT if your work depends on full time, never fail internet, then we need to wait until fiber optic arrives. (Note December 9: we are having problems with internet, at this time we do not have internet even when the power company's power is up. If in doubt, please send us a question.)
