"Location felt safe. Room was clean. Breakfast was presented neatly and had a good variety of options. Front desk staff seemed to be away frequently helping other “inmates” —- that’s literally what the sign at reception says. Kind of strange humor but staff was courteous and efficient at check in. "

"I was really disappointed with the cleanliness of this hotel. Overall, it felt lazy and mediocre at best. There were fingerprints all over the stainless steel appliances in the room, the floors were visibly dirty, and even the cabinets hadn’t been properly cleaned. It gave the impression that basic housekeeping standards aren’t being taken seriously. The hotel as a whole could really use a deep cleaning. From the moment you walk through the front door, you’re hit with an overpowering artificial scent—like strong plug-ins or air fresheners—which was so intense it actually gave me a headache. The elevators were also dirty, which just added to the overall lack of cleanliness throughout the property. The only positive I can mention is that I did not encounter any bed bugs, which is unfortunately something I’ve come to check for when traveling. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again unless there were significant improvements in cleanliness and maintenance."

"We were hoping to have a relaxing girls' weekend, but it wasn't in the cards at this hotel. The room was lovely. The beds were comfy. The balcony, that we paid extra to have, was dirty with pollen so we could not really use it. I am familiar with pollen this time of the year, but it should have been cleaned for guests to use. In addition to the pollen covered furniture, there were also cobwebs on the chairs. I was really disappointed, because the weather was perfect for it! It didn't even face "historic Darien" as the description said. It was just the parking lot. The room was pretty warm and the a/c didn't seem to work. We ended up sleeping with the balcony door open since it was much cooler outside. That wasn't great because a wedding party was having a good time making noise outside till late in the night. In addition to that noise, our room was located by a housekeeping room and they kept letting the door shut loudly as they were in and out of it in the morning hours. On day two, we had to request a remote for the TV since we didn't have one in the room. The young man at reception brought it up very fast. On the plus side, the bathroom was spacious and the mirror was divine! The shower was huge with 2 showerheads, and the water warmed up super fast. The staff we encountered were all really nice. The food in the restaurant was delicious, but we did not receive our $25 food credit that was listed on Hotels.com site. Would we stay there again? Probably not. "
