We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and the hotel’s convenient location made it an excellent choice. We would definitely recommend it and would happily stay here again.

The Mandarin Oriental this is not. This is a clean, well run, small European hotel, not new, but well maintained, with a very friendly and astonishingly multi-lingual staff. The clientele appeared to be well-to-do couples speaking French and German. The food in the restaurant was not flaming or foaming, but the lasagne made with fresh pasta was very nice, as was my glass of red wine. The hotel is within spitting distance of both Hertz and the train station. If you have reason to stay overnight in Lugano, this seems like a logical and pleasant choice.

A very pleasant self-catering studio about 70 metres down the hill from the main hotel and towards the town centre. It is on the first floor of a very pretty town house, and has good enough cooking/eating equipment. There is an excellent food section in a department store further down the hill in the town centre, about 200 metres away ... if you are ok with carrying your groceries back up to the accommodation.
