This stay overall wasn’t the worst but it wasn’t the best. Prior to arrival I got a call to confirm details and he’d asked what vehicle we would have due to the harsh road conditions leading to the cabin. No exaggeration if you don’t have a truck or suv this property won’t be accessible for you so keep that in mind. Secondly upon arrival the key was easy to access. The cabin had an odd stale smell throughout and the place was clean enough but definitely areas to improve on as the place was not immaculately clean, lots of dust and older grime visible. Areas of the cabin were more of less falling apart such as the ceiling and some wood paneling. Huge safety hazard with the bath rug in the bathroom as well as the rug in the bedroom, they are on hard surfaces with no grip mat under the mats so they slip out from under you so the fall risk was definitely there, almost injured myself as well as my husband. There was no WiFi which I would think would be available as the service up the mountain is spotty, no cable tv either, outdated televisions, tube tv with a vcr built in and we only access to old dvds. Also, no small touch of hospitality such as a small welcome pack or goodies for the guest.
Positives was the location super close to plazas and the Luray caverns and some short hikes, the hot tub was the saving grace of this place as well as the fire pit. Honestly without those two this place would have been a total miss. For the pricing of the property I’d think some of the cons would be bare minimum for a vacation rental property.
