"We had a great stay at NW Castle, it suit us perfectly as the kids were well entertained with the games room and pool. Our room was recently renovated and this was hugely welcomed as I had been expecting a tired decor. The hotel is full of charm and that added to the unique experience. All staff were fabulous and helpful. We will likely return for our next trip to Stranraer, thank you to the team."

"Old elegant hotel. Yes a bit worn in places but spotlessly clean. Food fantastic. Views and grounds are spectacular. Very dog friendly. Rooms spacious and warm Pool good. No spa. Golf right on your doorstep. Staff helpful. Annie at reception especially so. Lovely walks and close to beaches and cute towns. Lacked atmosphere in the dining room and bar areas. All in all great value for money and a restful few days. Planning to return."

"Beautiful seaside Victorian hotel! Staff were stretched thin but very friendly, dinner and breakfast were great, high ceilings in the room, stunning views out the large original windows. Some parts of the room could maybe use a deep sanitize clean, bathroom had an odd aroma. Room and hotel were well appointed otherwise. The walk down to the lifeboat station at sunset was 👌and the hike to Dunskey castle the next morning was incredible."

"Hotel very run down, maintenance non existent. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling above bed. Dust everywhere, unable to see out of windows so dirty. Crack in bathroom sink, bath stained and dirty. One bed was stained terrible down the side. On the up breakfast was lovely but tables very sticky so crockery sticking. Apparently this hotel was/is used for homeless people?"

"Our stay at Cladach was superb. The house is spotlessly clean, really nicely furnished & contains everything you could possibly want for the perfect stay. The living/dining area is spacious & there are three good bedrooms including one with a sofa & additional TV if someone needs some downtime. Each room has their own bathroom as well as a cloakroom downstairs.The kitchen is probably the best equipped rental we've ever had, in terms of crockery, cooking utensils etc. Mary really has thought of everything. The location is good overlooking the harbour & it's a nice walk through the village, which has a shop, pub, cafe, childrens play area & even two bowling greens! The views are amazing & there are good coastal walking paths.Booking and communication with the Host was seamless.All in all we believe we struck gold here & very much hope to return in the not too distance future"
