When we reached the end of the driveway and viewed Prowhouse nestled in the rock and firs, we knew this would be a spectacular vacation!
Prowhouse was everything that we could have hoped for, and more. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, spotless interior and exterior, upscale linens, beautifully decorated, and all in an awe inspiring setting!
We spent so much time in front of those huge windows in the master bedroom and family room looking out at the incredible view! (Bring binoculars, we spotted osprey regularly and once even a seal!)
Rich & Julie were in contact several times before our departure, sending a map of the hiking trails around the house and interesting information about the area. After we arrived, Rich cheerfully guided us in our entertainment endeavors, restaurant recommendations, suitable hiking trails, boat tours and the like. They are a joy to work with.
Don't miss the trails around the house- we enjoyed sitting in the adirondack chairs at the edge of the cliff and watching the fog roll in and out and the beach at low tide is a wonderful spot for a picnic!
Because of the peacefulness and beauty of the house, we enjoyed several days of relaxation without leaving the property. We did enjoy several excursions out, including: hiking the Bold Coast Trail in Cutler, a day trip to Schoodic Point and Bar Harbor, visit to West Quoddy Head Light in Lubec, nearby Jasper Beach, and the very interesting abandoned yurt compound hike! The binders that Rich and Julie have put together are full of great information, so be sure to look through them.
We have been renting homes in Maine since 1998, staying on the coast in Blue Hill, Gouldsboro, Prospect Harbor, and Winter Harbor, among others. We both agree that this house and its setting is the best one yet! Truly a stunningly beautiful vacation spot where we enjoyed one of our best vacations ever!
