Awesome Location - Apartment would be awesome with a little work

The location was incredible. We enjoyed our time in Madrid and the place gave us great access to most of the downtown areas and parks. I guess for the price I was expecting everything to work/be comfortable and clean, but I am not sure if the price reflected the location more than the amenities. Either way we had fun and enjoyed our time in Madrid. I would describe this place as 5-star location with 3-star accommodations.

Not worth the money

Four of us, two couples, spent 5 nights at this apt in central Madrid. Our experience was generally negative. First, the positives. The location is excellent in central Madrid which was somewhat noisy but expected. The outdoor patio was great with sunshine in the morning and afternoon. Now the negatives. A significant drawback is there is is only one key. It was difficult to coordinate between two couples. The apartment was very poorly maintained, tired, and in need of a good clean. I dropped some water on the kitchen floor and wiped it up with paper towel. It was basically black with old dirt. Two kitchen chairs were broken, the kitchen table top was loose and wobbled. The outdoor wicker chairs had large holes in the seats and not usable. The outdoor umbrella was broken. The list goes on. All of the usable furniture was very worn. The kitchen was poorly equipped with no oven racks or baking dishes. I would be hard pressed to say it met the bare essentials. We contacted the host with great promises to fix everything and did manage to get a kettle. Sadly, this could be a 5star apartment with the investment of some average furniture and a commitment to decent maintenance and cleaning. All in all this apartment was over priced at half the cost.

Enttäuschung für viel Geld

Meine Mutter lebt in der Karibik und wir wollten uns nach einer Europareise von ihr in Madrid für ihren Geburtstag treffen. Wir sehen sie sehr selten und es sollte etwas besonderes sein. Wir reisten mit dem Auto an und freuten uns das wir,den Fotos zu urteilen so eine tolle Unterkunft gefunden hatten. Was danach kam war ehrlich gesagt ein Alptraum!. Die Dachterrasse, auf der wir gedanklich schon so einige schöne Stunden verbrachten bei weitem nicht mehr so wie auf den Fotos. Sämtliche Stühle waren kaputt (ich spreche von wirklich großen Löchern auf der Sitzfläsche so das man quasi auf dem Stuhl zusammenbrach ! Es gab riesengroße Schirmständer aber als wir nach den Schirmen fragten sagte man uns per WHatsapp das die Schirmständer quasi nur ne Dekoration wären und warum wir geglaubt haben das es dort Schirme geben würde. (die Kollegin davor bot noch an das jemand einen besorgen würde, sehr unprofessionell !) Wir sprechen hier von knapp1400 € für 5 Nächte , da finde ich einen Sonnenschirm auf einer DAchterrasse nicht sonderlich merkwürdig. Es war quasi bis Abends unmöglich dort zu sitzen weil wir schon über 30 Grad hatten. Insgesamt ist die Wohnung "runtergerockt" es gibt Brandlöcher auf dem Fußboden, durchgesessene Sofas, überall an den Wänden Spuren (könnte man einfach mal übermalen) , die Rollos sind ausgefranst und in der Küche gibt es genau Geschirr für 4 oder 5 Personen. Man muss also sein Glas direkt wieder abspülen um es wieder benutzen zu können. Kaum Zubehör für die Küche und das Eisfach war noch voll mit alten leeren (!!!) EiswürfelBeuteln . Das sollte man beim sauber machen wirklich erwarten können das soetwas entsorgt wird. AUf der Dachterrasse stehen wunderbare Blumen. alle braun und vertrocknet aber Hauptsache Blumen. Was nocht viel schlimmer war , wie man mit uns umgegangen ist. Wir haben insgesamt 4 Stunden am zweiten Tag auf einen HAndwerker gewartet der einen völlig kaputten Stuhl (bzw dachten wir er bringt neue auf denen man sitzen kann!) reparieren sollte. ER kam dann als wir weg waren (und ging in die Wohnung obwohl wir das ausdrücklich nicht wollten da wir alle viel Geld mit hatte weil wir noch weiter gereist sind. Es war alles so unverschämt. LEider haben wir FEWo-direkt auch angeschrieben (sogar aus dem Urlaub angerufen) und niemand hat bis heute reagiert. Wir haben ehrlich gesagt eine Entschädigung erwartet, dadurch das es ein Geschenk war war das Ganze noch peinlicher. Die Lage ist TOP aber lieber woanders.
