Perfect mountain get-away

Exceeded expectations. Lovely views, spacious living areas, wonderful wrap around deck. Decor detail was beautiful. Well-stocked on paper supplies, dinnerware, kitchen appliances, cleaning supplies, etc. There were 5 adults in our group: my spouse and I, son, daughter and son-in-law. Perfect for quality family time. Highly recommend! (The only issues were small ones: coffee pot needs thorough cleaning or replacement; sharp turn into driveway won't allow for large vehicle parking. We had no problem parking 3 avg. sized vehicles in the circular driver. Would definitely book again!

Beautiful Mountain Views

Cabin was just as described. You can enjoy beautiful views from the windows in the great room and on from the back deck. Has everything you need. Our grandchildren enjoyed s'mores every night over the fire pit on the deck! The only negative thing I would say is the mattresses are little hard and the owner might want to invest in a better mattress for each bedroom. Other than that we would definitely stay here again.

Quiet and isolated

Property is very beautiful. Very clean upon arrival. Check in was very easy. Had several issues during the stay. AC froze up for two days during a heat wave. AC guy had to come out twice. The upstairs stayed hot even when the AC worked. Internet and TV did not work at all. We called several times on the status of getting at least the TV working, but manager only stated that they would contact owner to get it fixed. It was never fixed. I would not recommend unless you only need running water and electricity.

Beautiful home with no entertainment

We arrived at the location and had brought our slingshot on a trailer thinking a circle driveway would be great but the driveway is not big enough to turn a trailer. Also there are branches that were so low on the driveway it scraped the top of my Durango. The home is beautiful but you better bring toilet paper, paper towels and any other essentials you want/need. I hope you don’t plan on sleeping well because the beds are very uncomfortable! I had springs from the mattress putting so much pressure on my hips, they hurt for a week after we left. I called the property manager about the tv and internet not working. She blamed the weather and stated she would have to see what the owner would want to do about it. She stated she would call me back. That didn’t happen. Cell reception is awful at this location. So unless you want complete isolation, I wouldn’t suggest this location.

We stayed for 30 days and it was a wonderful break from the FL heat!

It is a pricey gorgeous, high quality home with numerous wonderful amenities. Our only complaints are the lack of consistent WiFi (not acceptable in today's connected environment) and very poor quality mattresses on all the beds (especially the prime bedroom). The tiny mounted TV and sketchy Dish TV reception didn't really bother us much. Consider a small dining table on the patio and more comfortable deck furniture. Neither the grill or gas fireplace unit had propane in the tanks so were unusable. Overall, it is a beautiful and well appointed home!

Beautiful cabin in a gorgeous location.

Pictures do not do the cabin justice. It is a cozy, well appointed home with amazing views. The only drawback is little to no internet and no ability to watch television except in the living room. It was a minor inconvenience but all else was great!

The cuckoo cabin

The cabin was perfect, great views, nice interior and fully stocked kitchen. If you have kids this is the perfect place - the TV has a parental control set so that all channels are for 12 and under, but wait! that’s not all, from 1am-7am the cuckoo clock in the dining area will remind you just how much fun you are having

Beautiful views but beds not great

The view was beautiful and the place was very well maintained and clean. The pictures that are online really did match how the house looks. The only issue was the beds, all the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. It was also the first place I rented that did not have toliet paper, you have to bring your own.

Overall good. Issue s with the TV. Finally got it to work but station selection very limited Basically terrible !! It took calling again and again to get the property manager to respond. The rental office is always closed, they give you one phone number and they’re just not responsive

Maggie valley Cabin

This property was a fantastic place to stay in Maggie valley. The towels and linens were new and plush. The views and location to other activities such as rafting, tubing, Waynesville, Cataloochee and exploring waterfalls was perfect. The cabin itself is beautifully decorated and a dream to stay in. We saw elk in the back yard and the fireflies lit up the sky at night. We do have a 4wd vehicle and we didn’t find the drive up treacherous in the least. It was very private and secluded and has its own space outside to hike around. I would definitely recommend this cabin and hope to stay there again. Perfect 10 in our book!

Great family cabin vacation

We loved our stay in the Ghost town overlook cabin. It was very spacious and had everything we needed to have a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. We especially loved the mountain views and sound of the stream in the distance. This cabin was everything we could ask for and more. Our kids are already asking when we can go back!

Retirement Vacation

This home is the best possible Maggie Valley Rental. Stunning (truly) views both long and short range directly off the porch. Elk everywhere. (We saw more than 15 off the back porch during our stay in the cattle fields across the road). Short trip on good roads to Maggie Valley stores, shops and restaurants. Five minutes in the car or a 10 minute walk to public access fishing. 15 miles to Harrahs and all that Cherokee and the GSMNP has to offer and an easy drive to Cataloochee as well. Walking trails and some old road beds that Elk use daily right out your front door. Some reviewers have dinged this place because the bed linens were not the most luxurious or because the towels were mismatched. Really? You people need to get an actual life..... Get out, view the wildlife, hike, drink coffee and look at that view and don't worry that you used a white towel today but yesterday you used a green one. Some dings have come on the WIFI... Again get a life and welcome to rural properties. The house has Hughesnet internet. Anyone who has ever had to use Hughesnet will tell you that 1. It is expensive and 2. It is horrible. So no one who has any other option would ever consider it. If something else was possible I assure you they would have it. If this really bothers you, get a hot spot on your phone and use that. Cell service was good to excellent. We spent 6 days and 5 nights here and absolutely hated to leave. Did I mention the view and the elk and the convenience? The well appointed kitchen and the propane fire pit on the back deck were fully enjoyed. It was truly a magical trip and the best trip I have had to the mountains in decades. Kudos to the owner and the management company. I have sent the link to this home to numerous people and plan to return annually at least. If I could give you more than 5 stars, I would. Beautiful home, gorgeous views and wonderful location. What else could you want.

Ghost Town Overlook

Loved the house, location and view! I do agree with other reviews that said the bath towels, kitchen towels and pillows need to be replaced. The bed pillows are stained and most of the towels are threadbare. Replacement of the pillows and towels and the home would be perfect!

Property was great, however i never got an email on how to get into the property so i had to jump threw hoops to figure out how to get into the house!!! They made us drive to an office to pick up and drop off a key, terrible manegment. They didnt leave any trash bags, toilet paper or anything in the home at all. Property was great, rental agency was absolutly terrible!!!

A perfect stay

Great experience for the perfect family vacation for the holidays. Property was clean, in great condition and beautifully decorated. Amazing views. Conveniently located to rental office, major strip in Maggie Valley and only about 20 min to downtown Waynesville all while offering a secluded and private area to retreat to after busy days. Property manager is very responsive. Only recommendation is that towels and pillows could be replaced. Overall though a very great and comfortable stay.

Fantastic home, but beware the inconveniences

Beautiful home, gorgeous view, well equipped kitchen and immaculately cleaned. Very well priced. We’ve been renting homes for over 25 years in Waynesville & Maggie. This one was easy access & private. There was no electronic code entrance, so you have to stop at the realty office coming & going. We didn’t know anyone still did it that way. All 3 mattress are very uncomfortable & 2 of them squeak every time you move. The WiFi was painfully slow. Direct TV package was missing ESPN & a few other basic channels. Despite the huge deck, outdoor seating was limited to 4 small plastic & twig chairs. Thankfully, we have family in Asheville & they brought us deck chairs to use while there. FYI: even with the $200 cleaning fee, you still have to strip your sheets, all dishes have to be cleaned & put away (vs running dishwasher on your way out). Worst of all, you have to empty all the trash cans, put the stinky trash in your car and take it to a very gross dumpster. For $200, I’d think the cleaners could take the trash out.
