"We had a great stay at the property. The cottage is very clean and comfy and is also well equipped. We did not use the pool as the weather was to chilly for us to brave the pool, but it looks good and was clean.The hosts are very welcoming and are there to help if there are any problems/questions.Very quiet location, ideal for a peaceful rest.We would recommend the property and the hosts.Many thanks for a great stay.Andy & David. "Excellent. Stunning location. Surrounded by water. A real get away from it all property. Huge plot surrounded by the river which wraps around the site, under and adjacent to the house. Watch kingfishers from the kitchen. Fish for pike, perch, trout and chub in the river which is teaming with fish. The interior is much better than the photographs suggest. There is little to do in the village as it is a very rural area but there are limited facilities in the next village Dampierre-sur-Boutonne which has a friendly little shop which sells basics but also sells beer and wine and pizzas ( very nice) and has a few tables and chairs where you can have a drink and mix with other tourists and locals. Good shopping nearby at Intermarché at Aulnay and even better at St Jean d’Angely where everything can be found including a good veterinary clinic. We drove from England and it is a long way but was well worth it. Unfortunately the weather was mixed and there is little to entertain you if the weather is poor as it is very rural. We had a great holiday and can recommend this property fully. The house is secure, hidden out of the way and very comfortable with good facilities, good WiFi, well equipped and presented. If you like birdwatching and fishing this is heaven. For anglers we caught good sized fish on fly, worms , maggots and lures. Bait is available in a fridge in the supermarket at Aulnay and a decent selection of tackle including lures, lines, hooks etc. Tight lines! "

"We had a great holiday at this lovely French Chateau. Unfortunately we had a heat wave that brought out hundreds of flies. By the end of the week, the weather cooled and the number of flies decreased significantly. The rooms were quite hot as a result, however the owner supplied us with a fan and we purchased 2 others to make things more comfortable. The salt water pool was a pleasure to have. There were also several outdoor games to play. Shopping was close by. We visited a couple of wineries as part of a day trip. There were several other adventures that were available but we decided to spend more time together with the relatives. Check in and check out was easy. Thanks for a great time. "
