Great location and size for groups

The location was just a quick walk before you hit the slope to ski in to Eagle lodge. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms for guests. My only suggestion would be to have keyless entry since the doors lock automatically.

2025 Mammoth Dads trip

We had an epic boarding trip! The house was perfect for our large group! The ski in ski out access was amazing! And we got lucky and hit two powder days! We will definitely return next year with the same group! Thank you for providing a great property!

Fantastic for a family group getaway with kids

We absolutely loved our stay here. Spacious and comfortable. Lots of room to spread out. Kids loved the game room and the bunk room. Kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to grill and cook dinners. The views were amazing.

Great house and location!

Beautiful house and view, right next to the slopes. We did a Dad and kids weekend and the set up was perfect. Lots of space and beds for everyone. Kitchen and dining areas are all next to each other and layout made the house easy to navigate with our large group. Reservation office was very friendly and helpful - a great experience overall!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The overall experience was great! The location of the house is wonderful and the house itself was beautiful. We had few problems such as the refrigerator not cooling and one of the toilets clogging, but Mammoth reservations was quick to address issues. I would go back and would recommend it to friends/family.

Biking trip

Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rental experience was great. Smooth transaction and obtaining keys / accessing property. I have one complaint though- i understand the property is built for skiing however the house was too hot to fall asleep comfortably. There was no detail mentioned that there was no air conditioning. Please please inform the renter of this and please make the small effort of placing multiple space fans to facilitate more comfort. I will hands down visit this property again if this is changed. I otherwise have no complaints. Thanks!

Nice home but needs a lot of maintenance

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to Mammoth for 40 years. We have stayed at many homes/condos during those trips. We liked the size of the home and the comfort of the beds but the home has many maintenance items that need to be addressed. Door handles/locks weren't working, light bulbs were missing, fire alarm detectors were chirping, there was a major water leak in the bunk room and we couldn't use it. The lighting in the home was very poor and in all the home feels worn out. The value isn't there for the price. Given the high snow levels it was difficult to get in and out of. Not ski in/ski out in 2023.

A VERY unique property with plenty of interesting rooms

I went with a group of 11 single friends for an annual fishing trip, so we needed plenty of space and things to sleep on. this chateau fulfilled our requirements. the kitchen was equipped appropriately with all the things we needed. Water heater is beastly and got hot water to all the showers quickly. The tv's that we used were smart tv's so you can enter your user info in the various apps to watch whatever. BUT, their cable tv or whatever Service they had there was more than sufficient. Parking: we went in the time where there was no snow, and there is a two car garage, but if you have a large truck thing you will not fit in the garage, but will fit in the 3 spots outside in the driveway without hampering the neighbors. Complaints: window coverings. there were none in a few places, which made it weird when you were doing normal things in a bathroom. No A/C, that we could figure out. If you are expecting wide-open concept areas that will accommodate 9+ people , this doesn't have it. But if you have 8 or less, it's totally fine. Keep an eye on your kids-they may get lost... which may also be a positive. Positives: When you get there, it's a cool little treasure hunt to figure out where everything is. every room has a completely different vibe.. and there are a lot of rooms. The backyard has an AMAZING view. Do yourself a favor and get up before sunrise and have a coffee on the back patio and take it all in. The location is super central.

Chamonix at Mammoth

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location next to Eagle, short walk to the slopes. Went with another family and plenty of space for the 9 of us. Kids had fun playing foosball. Good to note that there is not a bathroom in the bunk bed room. They can walk up the stairs to a spare bathroom w/shower. Also, large SUVs wont fit in the garage due to garage door height, especially if you have a cargo box on top.

Grand vacation at grand chateau

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This place is beautiful. The owners have great attention to detail. It was like staying in a dreamy snowy castle. You can walk or ski down to Eagle Lodge. You have panoramic views of the mountains. Our party of 10 had a great time- family style dining and games in the large dining room, game and tv room. The only downside was that for the last several days we experienced a leak in the ceiling in the bunk bed room. It was a huge inconvenience because we had to relocate the folks to other areas in the house - couches etc and put bowls to collect the water. For the price we paid for this vacation it was a pretty big inconvenience. Except for those few days of displaced folks before the leak, this was a dream vacation. If they fix the leak we would definitely book again. The property management company is very professional - if you can get ahold of them- we found ourselves trapped in a phone loop of no human and no way to leave a message when we were trying to report the leak. But once they got back to us they were professional and kind.

Grand Chateau!!! Lived up to its name!

As good as a Swiss Alpine adventure without the flight.

This property was everything the photos showed. The decor was very genuine country French. Lots of beautiful authentic artwork. Plus more. Cleanliness was over 100%. The views were magnificent. Linens and towels were 5 star hotel quality. The room layouts afforded a lot of privacy to all my guests. The kitchen and dining room are for serious gourmet cooks. Property is accessible to everywhere in Mammoth Lakes with ample parking space. I would give this stay a 10 out of 5.
