We love this area, and have vacationed in many, many lake homes near this area. I know the questions to ask so we have the place we want. The physical home was lovely and well kept. The grounds were very well kept. The kayaks were great. BUT, I specifically asked if we could swim from the pier. We absolutely could not. It was littered with lumber debris (not fallen trees). To swim, we had to paddle to one of the islands - which we did - but it didn't allow all of us to go together, so very disappointed. It was not what we hoped for, unfortunately. I was told by the owner, "The bay is the site of a former wood mill so there wood shaving in the bay but the lake is clear and swimming from the dock is very common". I can't imagine how swimming could even be safe in that bay. For this reason, I have to say, we won't be back to this spot.
