Marie-Galante Vacation Homes

This was our favorite beach on the island of Marie Galante (Guadeloupe). The sand is super soft and a beautiful peachy pink color. There are little shops and food stands just across the street and places to rent little boats to cruise around in. The best part is that despite it's perfect sand and great location, there was hardly anyone there! I LOVE uncrowded beaches and this is one of the best we've found. Definitely stop by if you make it to Marie-Galante!

"Bungalow joliment décoré. Bonne literie mais ce n'était pas un lit queen size (160*200) comme annoncé car un peu juste pour les personnes de grande taille. Il manque un porte-serviettes car il n'y a rien pour poser ou faire sécher les serviettes après la douche. Il serait utile d'avoir des photos de l'extérieur car nous pensions qu'il s'agissait d'un logement individuel, ce qui n'est pas le cas. "La très belle vue de la terrasse nous a fait passer un très bon moment. Mais quelques difficultés: on n'arrive à la maison par une petite route très escarpée, il faut plutôt avoir une voiture qu'une "voiturette". J'avais préciser qu'il y avait une personne âgée dans notre groupe et le gérant m'a dit qu'on accédait "sans aucun problème" (c'est faux). Par ailleurs il a fait pression pour qu'on quitte à 10h et non pas à 11h comme c'était indiqué. Il faut aussi préciser qu'il n'y a pas de fenêtre...

"The unit was right above the bar and other entertainment common areas. It was loud till around 22:00. The hotel animator was loud and overdone. Other than that, the ocean front was very shallow on the entire beach. Good for kids. Our hosts were excellent and very helpful. The unit was spacious and clean and very comfortable. Choose local off site restaurants rather than the buffet."

"Check in and out was excellent and well organised and the apartment was clean and tidy. However, there was a lot that could have been improved in the apartment and within the complex. The washing machine didn't work, and there were no basic commodities for us to use. We got 1 spare toilet roll for a 10 day stay, no dishwasher tablets,(or detergent for the washing machine) no dishcloth or plug in the kitchen sink, no basics like salt and pepper and oil for cooking. The fridge was very old and had no door on the freezer compartment. The lounge seating was really uncomfortable and if there were more than 2 people staying there wouldn't be enough for everyone. There were no comfy chairs on the balcony, just hard dining chairs. The complex is very run down (I winced every time we walked up the rickety stairs to the apartment!) but the pool and beach were nice. "
