“The room and bathroom were tiny but clean. Extremely cold and I had no instructions for controlling the heat which was constantly on “standby”. Upon arrival I stood in pouring rain ringing entry bell with no response. A kind passer-by went inside the restaurant to alert them. A sign for hotel reception would have been helpful. Staff were friendly and I had great support when my suitcase padlock required cutting off! Nobody was around to assist with taking my suitcases downstairs on departure. ”

“We stayed in room 7, and went to bed at around 11.30pm. The room was so noisy from the bar area until around 1am. The room facilities were poor, lots of maintenance issues like no toilet roll holder, loose shelf, loose hook on back of door. The shower was luke warm and felt like needles. The window didn’t shut properly and the pillows were wafer thin. The bin hadn’t been emptied properly from previous guest there was a tooth pick in there!! For £180 per night there was a lot wrong with this……

“Restaurant/ bar/spa Staff made the trip, friendly professional and knew what it meant to make a memorable stay. Rooms VERY tired. First room smelt of body odour. Second room bathroom literally falling apart. Cracked sink, everything leaked. Heating so unbelievably hot but unable to turn it off even after reporting to staff. Slept with windows wide open all evening. Lovely location, quiet and peaceful. ”

“Not the friendliest of welcomes. A meeting cancellation meant I arrived early but I wasn't allowed to check in. The staff I encountered throughout my stay were distant and aloof. Signage around the sprawling site was poor so I ended up wandering around to find various amenities. For the positives, the room was clean and the breakfast was good quality ”

“My first impressions were very positive as the hotel is in a great location in Maidenhead and only a short walk to a variety of restaurants and eateries both chain and independent. The parking area is quite extensive allowing more than enough room for hotel and restaurant guests. There is a stylish reception area with friendly staff who checked me in early after confirming my room was ready. The room was artisticly decorated especially with the bathroom area. “The room was cooler than I would have liked, but not too cold. The temperature/fan control did not seem to work, neither did the radiator in the room.”

“This is a place for when you want to toyally switch off, relax and gave a great nights sleep. Having no TV on the room, meant we went to bed early, heard no a sound all night and came away fully refreshed after one night. There are a couple of nice pubs and restaurants in walking distance and the Thai Orchid is fab.”
