The only Riad I ever stayed at and I am glad we chose this one. There are 3 riads with shared ammentities. Little bit hard to get to (but that's all roads), however they offer hotel shuttle service and assistance with your bags from the drop off to the riad. The Riad itself it's beautiful. We stayed at the princess one and the rooms are cozy and clean. The room was AC'd as well. Breakfast and dinner were superb. Breakfast and fresh continental breakfast with a lot of varieties (8-10am) and the dinner has delicious Morracan food (with set menu). Everyone is super friendly. Even the cat ZiZi! Would definitely recommend.

Our stay in Riad Karmela was very memorable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful all throughout the trip. We were guided by the staff all throughout to plan out our itinerary in the most effective and efficient manner. Amine guided us all through with a detailed marked map and also upgraded us to a bigger room the next day when we expressed our wish to have a bigger room. The location of this hotel was an icing on the cake. We did not need to use any transportation except on the last day for the YSL museum as every museum/garden/ shopping was within 20-25minutes. The breakfast was alright and unfortunately we couldn’t use the pool and jacuzzi as the water was too cold but we did enjoy the hamam and massage in the hotel. Overall was a memorable experience and would give 10 stars to the staff who were very friendly and helpful.

Un merveilleux séjour

Nous sommes ravis de l'accueil de ce tres beau riad, le personnel aux petits soins et toujours prêt à vous rendre service. Everyone was very welcoming and Armine in particular looked after us very well. It’s a welcome haven of peace and calm from the bustle of Marrakech. Food lovely and rooms very individual. Swimming pool not used as not sure how clean it was. Will definitely book to go again.

We had an amazing stay at Riad Karmela Princesse. It is a stunning property, beautifully designed in true Moroccan style. We stayed there with our 2 kids (11 and 8) and had a family room which were 2 rooms next to each other. The rooms were spacious, both with lovely bathrooms. The staff were so warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. It is located in the heart of Marrakech and close to cafes, souks, restaurants etc - all a short walk away. We'd highly recommend it.

Stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. The place is an oasis of tranquility in the busy medina. The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was lovely. We had a massage there and that was better than the massage we had at another place where we went for a hamman. But on top of that it’s the staff that get this place 5 stars. Welcoming, attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. They gave us recommendations, made phone calls for trips, organised taxis and tuktuks and changed money. Without them we’d have spent a lot more time searching the medina - which is also part of the point of going to Marrakech -but not if you want to be somewhere at a set time!

Quiet refuge in the chaos

The room was not in great condition. Curtains didn't close properly. Room fridge didn't cool. The bathroom tiles cracked and tired looking. The general lobby is nice and comfortable. Breakfast is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. One day there was no hot water and that was annoying but eventually fixed. Airport pick up and other transport arrangements were good. The Agafay desert outing we booked thru the hotel was horrible and wouldn't recommend.

The front desk was very helpful, Mohamed was very patient with us. He took the time explaining the maps going to Jemma el Fnna, but we still got lost twice. He also checked on us when we were walking to the square. At 1am we were going back to the Riad, we couldn’t find our place, I used goggle maps, there was no connection. It was very dark and scary, we called the hotel but could not connect. I would not want to stay there next time because of the difficulties finding the Riad. There’s should be more lights and signs visible for the location.

We spent 4 nights at Riad Karmela Princesse in early April. The staff at both Karmela Princesse and Riad Karmela opposite could not have been more helpful, friendly or kind. The Riad was an oasis of calm in the middle of the Medina. We had booked a suite for us and our two teenage children and had great rooms next to each other. The kids had a wonderful time with a great mix of activities as well as time on the terrace in the sun and in the pool. The Riad also had wifi everywhere which was super useful. Everyone was keen to ensure we had a wonderful trip and offered many suggestions for day trips and outings. We booked a day trip Ourika Valley, an evening trip with camel rides in the Desert D'Agafay as well as Jardin Majorelle during the day and the trips and transport were ideal. All of the drivers were friendly and informative and the map that the Riad provided on day one was brilliant and easy to follow through the Medina. As it was Ramadan while we were there we ate most of our evening meals in the Riad (due to timings) where they offered a choice of two set menus that changed each day. Every meal was fantastic and there was plenty of it. The breakfasts were also delicious and offered plenty of variety. Would highly recommend Riad Karmela Princesse
