Family get away

Great Rustic Home for a Mid-Size Group Getaway
My group of 10 adults found the property to be clean, well-kept and accommodating for our group's size. In particular, the cooking equipment and dining area helped to facilitate a wonderful steak dinner. We had a wonderful time, and if your group is looking for an affordable, calm weekend, this is a great place to stay!

I loved every quirky inch of this cabin!
The cabin had an odd layout but that just added to its charm. I loved all the decor choices as well. We cooked most meals and had everything we needed. I would love to visit there again.

Perfect family getaway
Cabin was actually as pictures shown online. Plenty of space for our 3 family stay. No one complained about the beds so they were all comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies & well organized. Rustic & historic decor. 2 fire places, well stocked with wood for burning. Hot tub worked great & was used a bunch. Reason for 4 stars on cleanliness is we found a vape at the bottom of the hot tub at first use. Obvious from prior users. Cob webs in various places. But it's a cabin so we expected that. Main floor stackable washer / dryer didn't really work, so we used the ones in the garage which worked perfectly. If we plan another trip to the area we would definitely stay again.

A great family cabin get away
The cabin was great place for our family to get together along with our dogs. The cabin is very well stocked with pots and pans and the necessities to cook about any meal. The open kitchen-living area was a favorite where everyone could be together in a big open space with views from the windows. The hot tub was great. The outside decks were great to relax on and to look out across the ponds and the woods behind the cabin. Would definitely rent this place again for our family get together.

Perfect bachelorette retreat
We had the best time at the cabin! It's much larger in person and the pictures don't give the area justice. There is a small pond stocked with koi and other fish a few steps away from the property. The AC wasn't working upstairs but the owner let us know ahead of time and installed window units prior to our arrival. They worked just fine. To get to some of the bedrooms, you have to walk through the garage but once there, it's cozy. Would highly recommend staying here!

Fun quiet getaway with friends
We had a fantastic girls trip here! The cabin was very clean and had everything we could need inside. The kitchen was perfect for cooking for everyone, and the back porch was a wonderful spot to drink coffee in the mornings. The gravel road was a little hard to get up with small cars, but we made it work. Would definitely recommend for a weekend away with a larger group!

Beautiful Cabin
The cabin was beautiful and just as described. Very large and roomy. The upstairs shower had plumbing issues from leaking through the pipes at the entryway. So we were unable to use the upstairs which was a problem since my mother was staying upstairs and had to go downstairs in the middle of the night to another bathroom. Also, the upstairs a/c didn’t work very well. But everything else was great!! I’m sure these issues were already taken care of.

Stacey, I am so sorry that the bathroom on your last night was a problem. When you let us know we offered to send a plumber out as fast as we could but you said no, that you could just use the other 2 bathrooms for one night. Never would I have let this be an issue if you had told me it was that important. We fixed it immediately the day after you left. Turns out it wasn't a pipe at all. there are 2 shower heads in that bathroom. If we had trouble shooted, it was only 1 shower head that had the issue and you could have used the other one without issue. You also never mentioned the upstairs AC during your stay so I'm thinking you may not have had the ceiling fans on. Being the 3rd floor, heat rises and it probably needed to circulate more. I can't stress enough that if there is something wrong during your stay to please let owners know immediately. Sometimes there is an easy solution like these. We take great pains to make sure that you make great memories here ! Jeanine

Winter Vacation 2022
The cabin excited our expectations. It was everything we were looking for. The drive up to the cabin is a little steep but once you make it to the cabin it’s all worth it. We had our dream winter vacation with a white snowed cabin. Our party was able to make snowman’s and have snow fights towards the back of the cabin. Thank you for this amazing stay.

This cabin was everything we wanted and more. Every time we looked around, there was always something new to find on the walls. The beds and sheets were incredibly comfy and we all slept great! We also took a walk around the pond near by and it was simply blissful being in nature and listening to the waterfall out back. We definitely recommend enjoying your coffee out on the back deck and enjoying the rocking chairs and all the nature that surrounds you. I've recommended this home to multiple friends and will absolutely be back whenever I find myself in Asheville next!

Peaceful
The cabin is located in a peaceful location -- nature abounds. Whe there are 3 other cabins within proximity, with the trees and natural barriers, it still felt private. The hot tub was pristine and sitting on the decks was so peaceful. We didn't use the fireplace, but if you do, there is plenty of wood. I appreciate the camp chairs we could move around and we all loved fishing in the ponds. We were without upstairs a.c. for one night, but the minute we notified the owner, she arranged a fast repair. This made us realize that despite what other listings say about not needing a.c., we neded a.c.! This is a very charming cabin!

My family and I had a great time. We had a few minor issues with water leaks. The property manager was very quick to respond. The pots and pans could use some updating and one of the boards was rotted near the exit from the main floor porch. But our family had a lot of fun fishing the ponds, watching for deer and chasing fire flies!

I can’t say enough about this house, our trip, and the owner! It was very easy to get in and to find the house. We had everything we needed! There’s a snow tubing place very close which was so much fun! And then we were even blessed to enjoy a natural snowy weekend, complete with snow angels, snow ball fights, snowmen and sledding!! With and without snow, the scenery is beautiful!! The house is cozy!! It was a perfect choice for our winter family vacation! The owner was super friendly as well as flexible when we ended up getting snowed in and had to stay an extra day! You won’t regret staying here!!

Beautiful space for large groups
The house is beautifully designed and in a lovely spot. The furnishings are clean and comfortable and there's plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is perfect for cooking group meals and the hot tub is a great amenity. Our group of 8 had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. A few things to be aware of - there are close neighbors, so you'll be able to hear them and they you. The house is up a steep, gravel road. A couple of the smaller vehicles in our group had difficulty getting up it, so four wheel drive would be a huge plus year-round. Lastly, the Mom Cave isn't really "off" the living room, it's part of the living room. Anyone planning to sleep there should plan accordingly.

Friends getaway retreat
We found this cabin to be the perfect place for us to gather after two years apart due to the pandemic. It was equipped with everything we needed, plenty of room to spread out if desired or gather together for games and meals. We already plan to make this a yearly pilgrimage!

Anniversary celebration
We had a wonderful long weekend with long-time friends. The location is close enough to Asheville for a day trip, for a day hike on the AT, for bringing dinner home from excellent restaurants, and for grocery runs/grilling out. Enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, and the beautiful view from the porch. Only challenge was the limited hours of the landfill. Highly recommend!

Wonderful lodge in a great setting, with great customer service
The lodge is such a beautiful and comfortable property. We were a big group of multiple units within one family, including kids who sometimes wanted to and sometimes didn't want to have shared sleeping quarters, and the lodge handled that challenge perfectly, giving us lots of flexibility to be able to give everyone great quarters. Early risers had great morning spaces, including expansive verandas and intimate nooks, where they could get work done or just relax without waking up anyone else. There are excellent spaces for the whole crew to be together, too. I enjoyed reading on the swinging bed in the screened-in porch, and it was nice hearing the nearby waterfall. The owner did a great job of making sure I'd be able to arrive and check in seamlessly given a work obligation that I had on Zoom as soon as I arrived after a long drive to NC. We didn't use the hot tub and would have loved to avoid having to pay the hot tub fee, but I recognize an electronic way of monitoring whether a party uses the hot tub probably isn't practical, so the generally applicable fee is understandable. We also really enjoyed the area, which I'm sure is equally wonderful in the winter. There's a very nice church at the base of the hill and, a bit further up, a very cute events venue. But with such a great lodge, we were glad to spend plenty of time there as "home base." Thanks!

Nice Cabin for a Relaxing Family Retreat
This is a very nice cabin. Very relaxing with several areas on multiple decks to sit and watch the time go by. It is only a short drive to the Asheville area and Johnson City. We enjoyed fishing in the stocked ponds. The owners were very nice and responded quickly when we reached out with questions. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the house. It was beautiful and decorated wonderfuly. The jetted tub upstairs and the swinging bed were incredible. The kitchen island was wonderful for keeping the family together. There were some issues the downstairs shower was broken which meant the other two bathrooms had to be shared. The main floor shower had horrible water pressure. The whole house needed to be dusted it was obvious it hadn't been dusted in forever. The wash cloths in the upstairs bathroom were all wet and smelled like mildew. I washed them all and put them back same goes for kitchen hand towels. There were dirty tissues under the bed. The kitchen cabinet fronts were dirty. Lots of cobwebs. The house would be perfect if you fixed these issues. I took some photos if you would like to see what i am talking about.

We loved the home! Had some neat aspects to it, and the children loved exploring the surrounding area. An abundance of firewood was provided, any and all of our requests were answered extremely promptly and last minute adjustments were made for us without hesitation. We would love to return and stay at this home. Extremely nice owners!
