We chose this apartment specifically because of the outside areas; at the rear of the property there was a large private terrace with a view of the countryside, and there was also a small terrace at the other end of the flat, off the kitchen, with a view over the roofs to the harbour and the sea beyond. George, the owner was very helpful and accommodating in picking us up from the airport, (and taking us back at the end), and he organised rental of bicycles for us too.
The property is accurately described, and in the heat of the day, there is a lovely breeze through the apartment. The kitchen is stocked sufficiently for you to cater at home, we ate in a couple of times, whilst admiring the fireworks going off in the distance.
The bed was comfortable, linens clean and tidy, There is aircon in the bedrooms, which is a bonus. This is charged as an extra, but worked out incredibly reasonable, and we used it every night. Wifi is provided at a charge but again, very reasonable, and no issues at all with connectivity.
The location is fine for able bodied people. The apartment is set quite high in the village, and there is quite a steep hill to get up to it. That's the price you pay for the views and the breezes. Not recommended for wheelchair users unless you have a car! For us, it was fine.
Marsacala is a lovely vibrant town, there is a small supermarket at the bottom of our hill which was very well stocked. We also found a butchers (Michael's) situated on the street behind the main restaurant road, his meat was delicious and very reasonable. There are also the fresh fruit and veg trucks on the harbour road daily.
