"Cozy Timber Retreat - Ideal for Couples, Solo Travelers and Small Families. This charming cottage was the perfect sanctuary for a peaceful escape. Though modest in footprint, the dramatic lofted ceilings created a sense of spaciousness that was truly remarkable. Crafted entirely from timber, the home radiated rustic elegance and warmth in every corner. The space was very clean and beautifully maintained with a thoughtfully equipped kitchen featuring high-end cookware that made dining in a genuine pleasure. The cottage was also conveniently located near local markets (can highly recommend NorthTisbury Farmer's Market), Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and other delightful island spots - making it easy to explore while still enjoying the peace and quiet of a tucked-away retreat. We were lucky enough to spot wild turkeys wandering nearby, adding a touch of whimsy and wildlife charm to our days. The hosts - who live close by - struck the perfect balance: completely respectful of our privacy while also being warm and delightful to interact with. It had been quite a few years since I'd last visited Martha's Vineyard, and this stay rekindled something deep for me. I feel reconnected with the island's beauty, its quiet spirit - and honestly, I did not want to leave. Whether you're seeking connection, romance, solitude, or shared memories with friends and/or family, this special cottage offers a restorative experience that will linger long after you return. "There were 2 issues I brought to Vacasa's attention the morning of our first day and each time I texted them they promised that the "local" team would get right back to me. Nobody got back to me until about noon on our 3rd day (our last full day) and then all she did was tell me the issues would be relayed to the owner and nothing could be done to fix them during my stay. Both issues could be easily handled by a handy man (a door knob that fell off from the back door to the patio, and some missing grout in the upstairs shower, which made that shower unusable), but the local manager offered no such solution. Also, my request for some additional soap bars and a box of Kleenex was ignored. I'm very disappointed with Vacasa's lack of follow-up and will try to avoid using properties managed by them in the future. "
