Pretty rough, but was ok for our needs
This place could use some significant maintenance, but was fine for us; I can see why some people were less than thrilled with the facility. We took a gamble, and it was ok. Some things that stick in my memory: Of the two smoke detectors, the upstairs unit was missing from its mounting bracket and the downstairs unit had no batteries. The kitchen floor needed a good wash. There was only a single fork in the kitchen. One kitchen drawer was significantly broken. One of the burners on the stove was missing its support frame, making it unusable. The front porch was covered in dirt and mud. The place really needs some more lamps all around plus some more basic bedroom furniture. The walls could use some spackle and fresh paint. Fortunately with just two of us, we could consolidate furniture and lamps into one bedroom while we were there. I don’t think we will be returning, but with a little effort on the owner’s part, this could be a lovely place.

It could have been a much better experience.
The cabin is rustic. It looks like the original carpeting. We had issues from the time we arrived but the owner was responsive even though he was in another state. The toilet leaked- like on my husband's head downstairs in the kitchen. A repairman replaced it quickly while we were gone for the day. They provided only 4 towels even though we had 3 guests and were there for 3 nights. We couldn't get the internet to work and the owner said there was an issue that had to have a technician come in. He expected us to be there while the tech came to repair it. Since we couldn't be there he reschedule the repair until we left and his cleaning person could be there. (We had plans every day and it was not possible for us to wait around for the repairman). So, zero internet. My husband was working remotely and this was a huge issue. He is a college professor teaching online classes. Internet was important! The owner was apologetic and said he would refund some of our money. And then, I never heard from them again. I did reach out before leaving a review and they did not respond. I feel this is a generous review.

Absolutely disgusting. Avoid property at all cost! We booked for four nights and after the first night, we realized there were rat dropping under the burner of the stove and we checked out that morning. After asking host for a refund they would never get back to us or the booking agent. Worst experience ever.

Time away in the woods
If you like the rustic atmosphere, quiet surroundings and that overall country feeling than look no further. We had a really great time and enjoyed the peace and quiet. There are now crowds to face or busy check ins. We felt at home and rested quietly after our day of site seeing. This was a nice gem of a place for us.
