Matsumoto Samurai House

Hotel doesn't look of much from the outside, but on the inside it's really lovely decked out, and easy access to train, shops, eating and you don't even get wet if it rains...as it did during our stay

The hospitality of Nori-san, Chie, and their family made our stay so enjoyable. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort and shared wonderful details about their beautiful, nutritious, farm-to-table meals. We even got to tour their farm, learn about rice planting, and spot a precious firefly. The house is bright and clean, overlooking rice paddies, with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. It's also centrally located in Akita, making it easy to visit spots like Lake Tazawa, Dakigaeri Valley, and Kakunodatemachi Samurai district.

The food was one of the best. We stayed two nights. It would have been better, if we could choose to stay without meal, because we found 2 meals a day was too much.
