Strawberry Log Cabin
We had a nice stay at the cabin. It was clean, fully equiped, dog friendly and very comfortable. Much nicer than condos that I have rented in McCall on prior trips. We would love to return and stay again.

Nice getaway cabin in great location
This was a super nice cabin for a weekend getaway with the wife and pups. For those with pets, this doesn't have a fenced yard, not a negative, just informational. This is a small but well laid out cabin with a large open central area and nice sized bedrooms. Previous reviewers recently mentioned a non working fireplace. The fireplace was in working condition at the time of our stay and was nice to have. The description mentions that it backs up to Ponderosa State Park. It's in very close proximity to the park, but is not directly adjacent. Access to the park is very close by, but not directly from this property.

The cabin was in a nice location and very quiet and secluded. The management company was quick to respond to our concerns with a few issues but overall we had a good time and a nice stay.

Disgusted guest
We have rented from VRBO/ Vacasa for years in many locations. The property was disgustingly dirty everywhere. Called property management immediately, which was Sat. Around 4:30pm. They asked that I send pictures which I had many of. They said someone would drop by Sunday. No one showed. Manager came Mon. Morning and agreed the property was completely unacceptable. Refunded cleaning fee. The straw that broke the camels back was when I turned on the water to shower and water spewed everywhere in the bathroom. So I had a shower before I even got in the shower. Left a day early because we were so disgusted. Property has many maintenance and upgrades that need to be addressed.

Cozy Stay
The property location was great—very quiet. The living area was comfortable, and the kitchen was well appointed. It was also really nice having a spacious garage that we could park in to get out of the snow. One problem we had was that we couldn’t get the heat in the main living area above 66 degrees—even with the thermostat turned all of the way up, so we had to huddle under blankets to watch tv… Also, we couldn’t figure out how to turn on the shower in the guest bathroom. Other than those two issues, it was a comfortable stay.

No fireplace - though listed
When you pay as much in fees as you do in nightly rate you expect the property manager (Vacasa) to be top notch. In this case a working fireplace was a major selection criteria and we were disappointed to learn once there the gas fireplace was inoperable. Vacasa communicated this to us, but never offered a discount or anything. Then we discovered the master bath drain was clogged so you were standing in ankle deep water. Then the wifi password listed was incorrect. We had to find the router and decipher the tiny print to find the correct one. These disappointments overshadowed what is otherwise a nice house. Comfortable and well-stocked kitchen with pots, pans, utensils and dishware. Even coffee, filters to go with the coffeemaker. If Vacasa upped their game, this would have been a 4 star house.

Nice cozy and clean.
Nice place that I would stay again. Just a couple of issues that were a bit irritating. The fireplace does not work and we had to run to the store and get kitchen trash bags and paper towels.

The cabin was very nice and close to our event. There were some things though that we not good.
The shower and liner were dirty, along with floor, the fireplace did not work and the TV in the master was not a TV just a dvd plater and the remote was broken. The Cain was great but I’d ready for an update. Thank you

Nice Quiet Place for Glamping
Nice Deck. Large great room for size of the place. Open kitchen. Huge table. Upon arrivel the refrigerator was not cold, but after 24hours it was fine...may have been off before we arrived. Also the garbage disposal wasn't working -- yes we found out the hard way...but we managed to fix it..we found a dime in lodged in the disposal (not ours). All throughout there were a quite a few spots on the carpet, but we found cleaner in the laundry space and they seemed to come up (seemed like old spots that had resurfaced with foot traffic) ....Just basic stuff you would find in a five star cabin rental "glamping" vs staying at a five star hotel. The washer and dryer worked well, and the beds were comfy. The price was fair for the accomodations.

Great getaway
This is a wonderful place to stay. Convenient location, easy to get in and out of and dog friendly. It is a nice mellow neighborhood in the mountains. Very clean and comfortable as well. The only complaint which is not the owners or VRBO's fault is the other people who stay here dont pick up their dog poop. So if you bring your pet please clean up after them. It is a luxury to be able to travel with dogs.

McCall stay
Great place for our weekend ski trip. The house was the right size for our family and my my mom. The house was clean and in a great area. My only suggestions are to fix the faucets in both showers. And the kitchen needs some essentials that just add that extra touch like flour, coffee, sugar etc.

Nice Place
Great location, nice floor plan but it hadn't been cleaned well. The bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned, there were greasy, dirty pans in the cupboards and the carpet could use a shampooing. The vertical blinds for the sliding glass doors are totally trashed and don't slide. Someone has tried repairing them with-Duct Tape-!!!

Had a nice stay. Great location. Place is nice enough - cozy but way overpriced for what it is. Wasn’t particularly clean. Dog hair, etc. Also had trouble getting fireplace to turn on. Appreciated being able to park in the garage.

Would definitely stay again!!
Perfect for a business trip, we cook a lot and the kitchen had what we needed. Cleaning sec needs to be more thorough as my dog found l dropped food by the couch and a half eaten Oreo we thought was a coaster on the coffee table. We will definitely look to stay there again.

Nice neighborhood
Great little town, nice neighborhood, friendly people & beautiful deer everywhere. Lots of great hiking & outdoor activities. The house & furnishings need a little TLC. It has a lot of potential. Scrub the floor, shampoo the carpet, buy some nice kitchen supplies, get it company ready.

Great location; good for pets
This is a nice place to stay if you're looking for a quiet part of town that is accommodating to pets. We saw lots of deer each morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall the property is very nice. It was a great setup with the dogs. It was great to have the dogs outside and not to be stepping in poop from other dogs. I misjudged how warm it would be in the house. I knew there wasn't air conditioning but looked at the temps and felt it would cool down . It did cool down but not till early morning which made sleeping uncomfortable until it cooled. Only one fan worked. It was also closer to neighbors than expected which was fine except the neighbor's dog barked a lot at night.

Nice place, just not as clean as expected.
Pros: nice location, quiet, comfortable space in the house. Cons: Just as we walked in there was a spider on the counter. 3 more were killed during our 2 day stay. There was dog hair on the pillows in the master bed room, the dishes were not very clean and the silverware bin was not clean at all. After receiving an text message saying extra time was taken to clean, we expected alot cleaner than it was!

We loved our snowy stay in McCall. The house looks exactly as it does in the pictures and was perfect for our stay. We even lucked out with two snow sleds & snow shovel in the garage. The only downside was the yard was not fenced in (for our dogs), but the whole area is very dog friendly so it just meant extra walks for me and the dogs. The location of this house was perfect for our visit as it's so close to many great trails and the golf course (which also has many paths to walk and run on). Most days we just walked from the house to explore the area. We highly recommend this location and the house.

This was a nice place with a couple of exceptions. The sheets in the master bedroom appeared to have black dog hair all over them. The washing machine and dryer also had a lot of black hair in it. Also, the shower curtain liner in the hall bathroom should be replaced as it had orange mold on the bottom of it. I would suggest the cleaning staff deal with these issues as they were not very appealing. The rest of the house was in very good condition. We enjoyed our stay but would’ve appreciated clean sheets and shower curtain liners upon our arrival.

Access to Ponderosa State Park!
I like the location of this cabin. You can ski right out the front door into Ponderosa State Park and easily drive into town. Enjoyed the cozy fireplace and the big table for playing games. Everything you need.

We had a wonderful 3 days here! Very nice location in the wooded area yet very close to the lake and town of McCall. We were very comfortable here, especially enjoyed the gas fire place. Very clean and everything was in good repair and working. We didnt ride bikes but there were many available in the garage.

Never use McCall Vacasa - non-responsive to calls or messages
Good property, horrible property management. Shower was broken, calls, emails, messages went without response. We had no shower and there was a note from the past renters about the issue. I called the property manager 5 times, was on hold for 1/2 each time, they never responded. Ruined the experience. Everyone hates to be ignored.

Great experience!
Overall, our experience was great. Pros are location, bikes, great for hosting due to open floor plan, quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds, and wildlife. Cons were main shower did not work - water was turned off. No communication to us on this. Gas fireplace turned off - same story. Hair in master bathtub. Dried salsa on tv remote. Fresh looking stains on master bedspread. Don’t let this list deter you - everything else was great. The property management team just needs to up their game/communication a bit. We plan to rent again next year. I didn’t talk to “owner “ since contact info appeared to be a call center... which is not how I wanted to spend vacation time.

perfect get away house for 2 or 6
My husband and self went for a weekend in McCall. There was warnings of snow storm all weekend . We almost cancelled due to bad weather, but then decided to go and if it got bad we would leave early. So glad we went. It did snow all weekend but McCall has snow plows going the whole time. Even the driveway was plowed for us. If you keep your car or small truck in garage then they keep the driveway cleared for you, however our large truck did not fit in the garage. The Cabin was so so clean. The propane fireplace was a added bonus!! Needed that heat after walking dog in the snow. The cabin is spacious feeling and yet not huge. Love this place and will use it again.

This is a beautiful cabin in a great location.
The cabin was very clean and had all the emmenities that our family of 5 needed. We loved how close it was to the beach (short car ride) and to Ponderosa Park (short bike ride). The garage was perfect for storing our bikes. We would definitely come back again!!

Two bedrooms with a large living area was awesome. The queen bed is very comfortable and the second bedroom is good for kids or a family. Kitchen has plenty of tools for cooking. Just be sure to bring all the supplies you need.
