Unexpected tragedy - no compassion, compensation or partial refund

The home was perfect for our needs, spacious, clean, quiet everything we were looking for except however we needed compassion. We stayed 21 hours of a 7 day vacation. Upon arrival hospice notified me that my mom had less than 24 hours to live. So we hurriedly repacked everything and headed home. A 4 hour trip for most of us, longer for others. It was unexpected and devastated me and my family. After she passed my husband contacted the realtor but they could do nothing. Its unbelievable to me that this world is so money hungry that being human, compassionate, kind or understanding simply doesn't exist anymore at least in the business world. That truly saddens me almost as much as my mom no longer with me. Yes, the house is beautiful and the location perfect and the vacation was supposed to be a much longed for and deserved vacation for our family but it turned out to be the vacation from hell. This Christmas gift to my kids turned out awful and I know it wasn't anyone's fault especially vrbo ppl or reality ppl but I was kinda hoping for some kindness or compassion to help with this huge loss. So we ate the monetary investment and it doesn't sit well with me right now. But nothing really does because I truly miss my mom and our vacation didn't happen as I dreamed it would. It was what got us through covid. We all looked forward to this week at this beautiful home in Deep Creek Maryland.

Beautiful home and property . Great , convenient location.

Arcadia is one of the nicest vacation homes we've ever rented . Clean , spacious , large home ...we had 12 adults and 3 toddlers and 1 baby with room to spare . Furniture is comfortable and in great shape . Kitchen appliances are updated and upgraded . Best stocked kitchen with all the little kitchen appliances and gadgets one could need . Bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable , even the pull out sofa beds were very comfortable with memory foam mattresses .Wish there were private bathrooms for each bedroom . Loved the gently sloping large grassy yard.... played many hours of Bocci ball , football etc.Deck was huge with lots of seating , 2 large tables with chairs besides a cushioned sofa and chairs and loungers .
