Clean, simple, and affordable. The owner greeted me at the check-in desk, and changed the water bottle in the cooler so I can fill up my own water supply. I’m not crazy about the room up on the second level because it means I have to go up some stairs, but hey for this price, who’s complaining.

I liked it had a kitchenette and 2 beds where 1 was separated as its own room. Very convenient, could park right in front of door. We had a baby with us so unloading and reloading was very helpful. Didnot have continental breakfast but because it had kitchenette we could make our own from the ite.s we briught with us.

I love the old Tel Star sign. Room was clean, TV worked and there was even a toaster. The bathroom was exceptionally small and I count not figure out how to switch the bath faucet over to the shower head. The inside door latch is broken. There was no place to leave (physical) key upon early checkout. (Some people had left their keys in ashtray besides office door. yuck).

They say you pay for what u get … I stayed at the motel 6 a couple weeks before for only 15 $ more and it was 100% better. This room was disgusting! Smelled like someone smoked in it for years, there were stains in the bed the curtains, chair and carpet. The tub was stained, the mirror was dirty. The a/c unit was gross , Thank god I brought my own blanket. I do not recommend . The only good thing about this place was the staff

New Owner Doing Reno

The room i stayed in had an entirely new sink/vanity as well as a new fridge and air conditioner. They also dotched those awful brass swing out lamps by the beds with modern ones.. . Complete with electical plug in, usb plug and even a c charger. Its not the ritz, but they are making strides ro update and modernize it. Something else has been done every time I stay it seems like.

Customer service was great! Super friendly and professional. The room however left a lot to be desired. The floors under the bathroom sink were very dirty, there were crumbs around both beds, I found a used tissue on the floor beside one of the beds and the shower sprayed water all over the ceiling. Rooms are pretty outdated and just didn't feel clean or well maintained.

New Management?

I left it to the last minute to book a hotel and there were very few rooms left in town. I usually stay elsewhere and was more than a little hesitant as this place used to be a total dive. To my great relief it has been cleaned up. The staff were friendly and quite accommodating. They even made sure there were bottles of cold water in the fridge; most appreciated during a heat wave. Though not luxurious, its definitely clean and do-able. Good work guys.

not a no tell motel anymore

from the outside the telstar has all the hallmarks of a motor inn. But since management has changed there is now and obvious effort to make sure that the hotel itself is maintained on the inside and if not luxurious definitely cozy and clean. Most importantly, the man I'm assuming is the general manager is super friendly, relaxed, and concerned with whether or not you're having a decent stay. I've never had a problem checking in late or checking out late for that matter. And I've never had a problem with any kind of deposit or damage issues either so oh no I would say to give it a try. You'll get the same stay that you would have had at a hotel 30% more expensive. So save the money and stay at the Telstar instead

The staff was great. Was not impressed that i was given the wrong room at 1st , had to pack and unpack again to a different room . Air conditioner didnt work. The maintenance man went above and beyond to try to fix the problem. Try to find us another room but that air conditioner didnt work either. Brought us a small fan till manger was available. Then the fan blade was put on backwards so that didnt work. Manager did come and give us a bigger fan and solved the problem, it did help and we could actually fall asleep. I probably will never stay there again, to much hassle.
