Garden of Delights
The Larkin Cottage has the feeling of Mendocino yet is situated in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood just minutes away. From the thoughtful gift basket on arrival to our last glimpse of the ocean beyond the lush, peaceful garden, our stay was perfect. Thank you so much, Ellen, for our short yet sweet stay.

We were extremely happy with our stay at the Larkin Cottage. For starters, the location is perfect - just a quick 5 minute drive to the center of Mendocino. The cottage is so charming and inviting. You can tell that Linda puts care into it's upkeep and maintenance. And, how great to have a private deck, hot tub and yard right outside the back door. Linda went the extra mile and left us a lovely gift basket to help us celebrate our birthdays. This is now our "go to" place when we visit Mendocino for a weekend getaway.

Lovely Cottage in Mendocino
My husband and I stayed here earlier in December to enjoy a quiet celebration of my birthday. We loved everything about this charming little cottage, especially the private hot tub outside. Linda is a wonderful host and we felt very much cared for here. We highly recommend Larkin Cottage.

Cozy Weekend Getaway
We absolutely loved everything about the Larkin Cottage! It is just the right size for 2 people, and has all the comforts of home. Linda’s communication was thorough and timely. The location between Mendocino and Fort Bragg was ideal for our needs. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and cozy fireplace. What a great place to curl up and read one of the many books that Linda has available! We visit the coast several times each year, and we definitely plan to return to the cottage. Thank you, Linda!

Fabulous little cottage
The Larkin Cottage is a beautiful little gem. It is exactly as described, in excellent condition, very clean, and beautifully appointed. Every little detail is thought of. We honestly felt like we could stay there and just move in permanently. We met Linda and she was just delightful. I highly recommend this property in Mendocino, you will not be disappointed.

Larkin Cottage
The Larkin Cottage was a perfect respite during our Pacific Coast vacation! It was cozy and warm after a day of sightseeing! Linda was very helpful with all of our questions. We enjoyed all of the material she made available in the cottage regarding restaurants, hikes, etc. We had our best dinner with views at Albion River Inn Restaurant, Mendocino Cafe, and Patterson’s Pub! We absolutely loved Mendocino! ❣️

Everything you need or want
It’s a cozy, lovely space. The host Linda has provided so many touches, among them fleece robes, a useful gift basket with snacks and wine, a special anniversary gift, tons of quality towels, many bed pillows of every loft, a kitchen with quality knives and all the basics. The hot tub was also a great perk! The location is just outside of town, just a couple of minutes away. It’s near highway one, but at night it is very quiet. This host has real pride of ownership. She provides everything possible for a nice stay.

The cottage was better than described. The bed was comfortable, the spa was clean & hot. There were plenty of linens and comfortable robes to sit on porch and enjoy the fresh ground coffee. The kitchen has everything you need. It was a great opportunity to unplug and reconnect with nature and each other.

The Perfect Little Cottage

Linda is an exemplary host and communicator. The cottage is very well maintained, with comfortable furniture, lighting from its many windows, nicely stocked kitchen, gas fireplace, and accessible WiFi. Outside, the gardens are beautiful, the location is quiet and nicely accessible to Highway 1 and the town of Mendocino. This was our second stay. Perhaps there will be a third!

Lovely cottage with great layout. Everything you could need. Couldn’t sit outside in the rockers because covered in mildew. Hot tub had sand in it. Otherwise all good.

Thank you for your feedback. Both of your concerns have been taken care of..... Sand in the hot tub is interesting since there is no sand on the property. And the chairs are freshly power washed. ~Linda

Don’t miss out!
The Larkin Cottage is one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed. It’s incredibly pretty with the yard full of blooming trees and bushes, flowers and ground cover. It’s a welcoming, comfortable home away from home. Linda takes great care of her property. The guest house couldn’t be sweeter either. It’s an ideal location just outside of Mendo proper, and a world unto itself!

Perfect Anniversary Retreat
Lovely property and cottage to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The kitchen is cozy but has everything you'll need. The cottage itself was roomier inside than I expected. The gas fireplace was great to hang out by. Linda, the owner was so welcoming with a gift basket left on the bed and helpful restaurant tips for us. We highly recommend staying here.

Our purpose in this trip was to flush the busy-ness of this year and get relaxed before Thanksgiving. This cottage was perfect for us. The warmth of the gas fireplace while we just read from the couch; the hot tub under the stars…perfect!

Property was immaculate! The setting of the property was beautiful with trees and attended to bushes and plants. The cottage itself was in wonderful condition inside and out. We were so glad we chose the cottage. From the moment we arrived until we left, we took advantage of the beauty of the landscaping, the hot tub, and the comforts of the Cottage. We hiked every day in the area and returning to the cottage was rejuvenating .

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. It is perfect for a couple looking for a getaway. We stayed 3 nights and found it to meet our needs perfectly. It is very thoughtfully appointed with everything needed in the kitchen to prepare breakfast or other meals. The gardens are so beautiful.

Wonderfully relaxing
My husband and I loved our week-long stay at Larkin Cottage. The rhododendrons were bursting into bloom and looked glorious. The hot tub was perfectly situated to provide us excellent privacy while still allowing a partial view of the ocean. The house was spotlessly clean, and there was a bonus Wall of Paperbacks that provided me some great reading while my hubby was off in the woods having a fine time riding bicycle trails. We strolled the seaside cliffs and saw whales spouting as they headed north to their summer feeding grounds in Alaska. Altogether, it was a splendid holiday for us in a lovely location.

Wonderful Stay!!
We absolutely loved our stay at this cottage, and it could not have been better! The cottage is beautiful, quiet, and conveniently located close to town. The cottage has so many nice touches, and we loved getting to use the hot tub at night, drinking coffee in the rocking chairs on the porch in the morning, the cozy fireplace heater, and the extra comfortable bed. Linda is a wonderful host - she was communicative and provided helpful information. And we loved our welcome basket, which is such a nice touch! I definitely hope to stay here again!

This was the perfect place for our long weekend in Mendocino. It was close to the village, hiking, and dining. Simply Blissful
This was our second visit to Larkin Cottage and Linda continues to out-do herself. No need is left unmet, as she goes far above and beyond. The property is immaculate and ethereal - as we spent hours enjoying the hot tub under the stars. You can’t find a better location either. with town being hardly a 1-minute drive away. Charming cottage
The owner has put in much thought about how to make this cottage and one's stay comfortable. The heater is a gas fireplace, which lends a lovely ambience. The owner leaves a nice basket of treats for her guests. The towels are thick and fluffy. There is a hot tub which warmed us up on cool February evenings. Close to town, Route 1, and the fabulous Mendocino Headlands, the cottage's location makes it easy to explore the area.
