We spent two weeks traveling New England. Focusing on VT, Maine & RI. 5 days were spent at the Mad River Lodge. Although all the places we stayed were all very nice - none of them left us with the feeling of home away from home like MRL did. The main lobby and opportunity to meet other travellers was very enjoyable. The whole place felt peaceful and homey and would absolutely stay there again.

Very basic facility, clean with friendly owner. Stayed in a room with queen bed, TV, shower and large extra room set up for storage of ski's, mountian bikes, etc. About a 5 minute drive to downtown area with dinners, and restraunts.

Great hotel, very relaxing. I would definitely recommend. Also, I had never heard of Waitsfield before staying here and it was a very nice town. Some great views of fall foliage, great food and just a cool vibe all around.
