A great alternative from expensive AA hotels!
Lovely, quiet property and cozy cottage made this a perfect getaway for us when visiting our daughter at Ann Arbor for Parents’ weekend. While it is a little bit of a drive (~25-30 min) it was well worth it - much more affordable than ridiculously overpriced Ann Arbor hotel rooms. and beautiful peaceful setting made it thoroughly enjoyable. Would definitely return! Thank you!

Just what we needed
We were looking for a quiet peaceful weekend getaway and found the perfect place. Very comfortable and cozy. The property is beautiful with the little pond and walking paths. Would definitely stay again.

Kind hosts, welcoming space
Jill and Michael were thoughtful, helpful, responsive hosts who accommodated our travel needs. The space was quiet, and we especially appreciated the walking paths near the pond and through the Forest next to the house. The location was convenient to Ann Arbor and surrounding outdoor recreation opportunities, parking, arrival, and departure were simple and smooth.

Perfect Family Vacation Home
This property truly deserves 5 stars. My husband and I, our two kids (3yo and 15month old) and our dog stayed here for 5 days. The hosts were very helpful and provided us with some great local options of food and ice cream beforehand. Highly recommend the Social House 103 to anyone visiting. I truly cannot say enough positive things about this home. The house was very clean with everything you could need. The yard was very well maintained and you could tell they love and respect their property. The beach was perfect for our little girls to splash around in and our dog to swim in basically all day. As the description reads definitely bring a few garbage towels to wipe off paws and feet. There were walking trails through the woods that were well maintained as well. You really don’t even need to leave the property! The house was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Pictures didn’t even do this listing justice!

Great location and place
We truly enjoyed this house. We traveled with our kids, ages 4 and 6, and our dog. We enjoyed Rolling Hills and Willow Metroparks for their pools and water parks, along with enjoying the beach at the house before and/or after a day of water. The owners were so kind and welcoming. We were so appreciative to have had the opportunity to bring along our dog, too! She just loved the trails and enjoying nature as we all did. We forgot our dog kennel and the owners were so accommodating to let us borrow one for the stay. Overall, a really wonderful experience - thank you for allowing us to stay in such a great place!

Michigan Getaway
We had a great experience at this property. The hosts are friendly and so are their dogs. Our fur baby Mini Pearl loved visiting them at the fence and escaped one morning to go say hi. The beds were very comfortable, air conditioning worked great, and the living room was perfect for unwinding from our day trips to the Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, touring the F150 plant, and touring Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Michael and Jill’s rental! I took a quick trip to MI for my baby shower, and in between all the chaos I truly enjoyed the relaxing outdoor oasis right in the backyard! We had a bonfire one evening and my nieces went swimming in the pond during the day. Michael and Jill even provided me with some recommendations on a nearby bakery! Thanks for the wonderful stay Michael and Jill! :)

Private Retreat
Nice place to get away from it all. Plenty of room for 2-4. The only thing I missed was being able to see wooded acreage & pond (landscape in back) except for porthole window in kitchen. Furnished nicely, great bathroom, well stocked kitchen. We had everything we needed! Safe surroundings! Great Bakery downtown Milan. Don’t miss that! Enjoyed the shops. Close to Brighton, Ann Arbor. Fenton. Very close to Cabellas & Bass Pro Be sure to know where you want to explore & eat prior. Not a lot of info for that in house. We hope to return! ThanK You Michael & Jill.

Fabulous weekend
This property was perfect for us! Dog friendly, beautiful country setting. Cabin was charming and comfortable. Hosts were very responsive to questions or needs. We simply had a wonderful place to stay and celebrate our daughter’s graduation!

Perfect spot!
We had a wonderful time spent at this rental. We brought our dog and loved walking through the woods on the property. The space was perfectly clean and cozy. Nice hot shower! This was actually our second visit, and I know we’ll definitely be back.

Wonderful Second Stay

Clean, Comfortable, Beautiful Location!
We stayed here for three weeks during construction of our new house. The cottage is well-appointed with many thoughtful touches. We had everything we needed for our stay. The property is amazing. We enjoyed daily walks on the wooded trails. The hosts were extremely responsive, helpful and kind. We found favorite local restaurants and had a great time at a local brewery. Our son is at University of Michigan and the cottage was conveniently located for our visits to Ann Arbor. We had such a good visit that we booked an additional stay.

This is a wonderful spot. Out of town but only 20 min. drive in to Ypsilanti. Private. Great yard for our Collie and visiting Collie puppy to play. Fire pit adjacent to pond, charcoal grill which we used to cook our shish kabob on during the University of Michigan/Michigan State game which we were able to get on the t v. Umbrella covered patio table with chairs to sit outside and enjoy a fall day. Accommodations were very clean, well stocked with everything you might need, beds comfortable, heating system efficient. Owners on premises and easily available if needed but other than that just small talk when our dogs "visited" their dogs, their dogs being behind a fence. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to visit again.

A little piece of Heaven on earth
Jill and Michael were fabulous hosts. They never bothered us but were just a text away if we needed them. The house was spotless and had all the necessities. Another Great Stay!
I first selected this property 3 years ago because it was close to my relatives in Milan, and I was delighted to stay here again. The cottage is spacious and spotless, and it has everything you'd need for a comfortable visit. The property is gorgeous with walking trails around the pond, and the "country" setting makes it very quiet and peaceful. Michael & Jill are great hosts, too! Looking forward to staying here during my next visit to Michigan.

Beautiful Home and Property
This vacation was our first vacation with our new German Shepherd puppy (1 year old). All together it was my husband and I, our 5 year old daughter, 3 year old son, and our 1 year old puppy. Needless to say we knew going into this we would have our hands full, so we sought out a property that was nearby in case things went awry. We're still training her so we were looking for a property with some land and water nearby to see how she would do off leash and with swimming. This property exceeded our expectations and not only did Rosie love it but so did we. She did fantastic off leash and thoroughly enjoyed running her heart out and swimming in the pond. We all enjoyed exploring property, walking the trails and having a bonfire at night. The owners left a smore making kit which we thought was cute and thoughtful. The house was immaculate and we could tell the owners took the time to make sure whoever stayed there had everything they needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need to cook meals, plenty of towels and linens, bug spray, etc. At night when we were relaxing there was a nice movie collection to select from. The owners were great and gave us our privacy. We did not get a chance to meet Jill but Mike was very friendly and their dogs, Piper and Gracie, were so cute and tolerated our dog very well. I would definitely recommend this property for families who are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and for pet owners who love the fur babies as much as we do. Relaxing quick vacation
This property was a great home away from home! We brought our two dogs and kayaked on the pond. It was quiet and very relaxing. The house was cute and had everything that we needed. When a storm blew through, it was nice to have a cool and comfortable space to wait it out. The owners were very accommodating with our senior dog's anxiety, which was very appreciated!

Great hideaway
House in next door to owners/host. Key was in lock box. House outside had security cam. Plenty of parking. 15 min drive to Kroger’s. Inside was clean and comfy. Extra blankets in living room chest, hotel soaps and shampoos available in bathroom, lots of cooking appliances dishes, and cutlery. The beach area was clean, combed, and water is treated with something to surprise seaweed. The no swimming sign kinda threw me but host gave permission for us. Dogs are friendly and fenced but dog was able to escape so someone scared or allergic to dogs may not want to stay here. Overall loved our stay and my kid loved having a beach in our backyard.

Great Wooded Getaway
My family + our golden retriever had a wonderful time at the cabin. Our dog lived his best life swimming in the pond and playing with the owners' puppy. Jill and Michael were wonderful hosts, and made things easy and low stress. Definitely recommend this place for families and dog lovers!

Peace & Quiet among the trees
After selling our home we needed a temp place to land that welcomed our two big dogs. We feel so grateful to have found the Hideaway and connect with Jill and Michael. They have been gracious hosts and we needed the calm that comes with this place. Walking among the trees on various trails and having a beautiful pond nearby for my two fur balls to enjoy has been amazing. The house brings all the key things you need for a getaway. There is truly nothing to do but enjoy. We highly recommend this place if quiet and comfort is what you seek.

Beautiful pet-friendly property
We were looking for a place to spend a relaxing weekend away from the hubbub. The property was beautiful with pond and woods. Our dog loved running through the woods and swimming in the pond. The owners’ dogs were super playful, great hosts and helped to wear out our pup. Our family just chilled during the day and enjoyed the unseasonably good weather. We hooked up our son’s Xbox to watch Netflix movies at night. Owners were very accommodating.

Great Trip!
We were very happy with our stay and when we go back to visit we would surely stay there again. The owners were very kind and accomidating and our dog loved the freedom he had to run around the beautiful land and woods.
