Family Size Cabin with Kitchen, Fireplace, Hot Tub

Perched on the hillside with a view of the countryside, sits the Red Fern cabin with over 2,500 square feet of living space. The cabin features an incredible space for family and friends to get away with three sleeping areas and two bathrooms.

This three-story log cabin features a fireplace, kitchen, pool table, and much more! Be sure to enjoy the great outdoors with a grilling area, fire ring with chairs, porch with rocking chairs, and the unique 10-person in-ground stone hot tub.

Living Room:
As soon as you enter your majestic accommodation, you will understand why the Red Fern is called the “Queen of Cabins”. The spacious living room boasts a large gas fireplace encased in a handcrafted stone hearth that extends from floor to ceiling. Two cozy sofas and 2 oversized chairs make for good spots to nap by the fire, read a good book, or watch the 50-inch Roku Smart TV. Split log planking, and huge log beams, provide the perfect atmosphere for you to enjoy your breakfast or a round of board games at the Amish-made table for ten. The nearly full wall of windows allows a gorgeous view of the surrounding Amish countryside.

Kitchen:
The kitchen area is home to a full-size refrigerator with a freezer, an oven with a 4 burner stove top, a deluxe coffee maker, and a 6 slice toaster. The hand-crafted wooden island with two stools allows for plenty of socializing as you prep for dinner or just chat over coffee. There are ample pots and pans if you feel like cooking or a microwave oven for heating up the leftovers from one of our amazing restaurants in town. The extra-deep porcelain sink and rugged cabinetry sit below an eight-foot window that dominates the faux bark wall all signal that you are in royal surroundings indeed.
Walk out the kitchen door to get some fresh air on a private log-railed balcony where you can relax on the wooden rocker or the two-person bench glider.

Main Floor:
The main floor bedroom features a premium king-size bed resting on a pine base underneath a peaked ceiling with log beams. The windows on two walls allow plenty of light in the daytime with privacy shades for the night. The Roku TV allows binge-watching your favorite shows until you fall asleep, or walk into the adjacent extra-large bathroom where your 2-person jacuzzi awaits. Fill this hand-quarried stone encased spa with hot water from the old-fashioned pump fixture that adorns it. The shaded window embedded in the stone wall is high enough to provide privacy but allows for a moonlit ambiance to enhance your experience. When you are ready to head out for the evening, a glass walk-in shower and the unique stone basin resting on the wooden countertop will get you started. A hairdryer, iron, and portable ironing board, and all the amenities you need are provided for your convenience.

Loft:
Head upstairs to your cozy loft where a queen-size bed tucked under the eaves awaits your cozy slumber. A soft chair and Roku TV make this the perfect hideaway for when you need some time apart from the group.

Basement:
The lower level is definitely a must-see space. A pool table made from logs and a Roku TV give more than enough entertainment options. While there is certainly much to do, there is also much to notice. The tin bucket bedside light shades, the oak barrel-like doorway, and the actual Whiskey barrel sink in the bathroom supply the kinds of exceptional features you will be telling your friends about. A 2-person glass shower along with a hair drier, and essential amenities are found in this bathroom as well.

Even though this space is designed for fun, you must rest sometime! Three queen size beds along with a comfortable sofa and lounge chairs make this the perfect spot to crash when the fun is all done. On second thought, you had better not turn in without heading out onto the patio to what might be the best spot on the property.

Patio & Hot Tub:
The red fern patio is home to an extra-large hot tub set in the middle of large stones and river rocks to give you the feeling that you are soaking in a mountain canyon. There are Adirondack chairs surrounding the sunken fire ring and your own picnic table sits nearby. A translucent covering makes the hot tub usable even in rainy weather and the accent lights combined with the glowing fire provide all the atmosphere you could want. Please enjoy this remarkable outdoor space but do remember that sound from a large group out of doors carries far and be respectful of your neighbors who wish to enjoy their stay as well.

In addition to your indoor space and front porch, you can use the charcoal grill and the fire ring alongside the building. You may also walk the paved pathways of our campus and hike up the scenic county road to town or down the same road to explore nearby fields, creeks, and wooded areas. (please be respectful of any private property) A ring doorbell camera is present at the entrance of the cabin and monitors the driveway

Your visit is designed to give you the maximum comfort and privacy. There is no onsite office. Access to your cabin is via keyless entry with a code we will provide you upon confirmation. Your host is just a text or phone call away and our customer service team is eager to assist you with anything you need.

This cabin is located on a property with other stand-alone cabins. While located in a peaceful and serene setting, your suite is less than a mile away from the heart of Berlin with all its shops, restaurants, flea markets, and attractions. In a 10-mile radius of your tranquil base are the villages of Mt Hope, Bunker Hill, Charm, and the towns of Walnut Creek and Millersburg. Along the way to places like Bunker Hill Cheese, Breitenbach Winery, or the Amish Country Theater, you may come across a team of horses plowing the field, Amish farmers shocking wheat or making hay, and some of the most beautiful countryside in the Midwest.

While public transportation is limited in our area, the charm of Amish country is driving the back roads and coming across sights you cannot find anywhere else. When you want to get down to serious shopping there is free public parking available in town and at all the attractions outside of town. There are even several places where you can travel as our Amish neighbors do in a genuine Amish buggy driven by one of our local Amish men who will tell you little-known facts about the plain folk's way of life.

Non-Smoking Rooms
We are strictly non-smoking. Outside areas may be used for smoking only if the smoke does not enter any of the accommodations. A $450/night fee is assessed for smoking.

No Pets
Pets (no matter how well behaved) are not permitted at our properties. Please respect future guests with allergies and our efforts to keep up all rooms to highest standards. A $250/night pet fee is assessed.
