Our modern cabin is the perfect basecamp for your Lassen adventures in Mineral. Relax in our comfortable living room next to a crackling wood stove. Cook your favorite meals in a fully stocked kitchen. Or simply curl up on our deck chairs amongst tall pine and fir trees to catch up on your reading!
**Please note the steps down to the cabin in notes below**
Our cabin is small at 750 sq. ft., modern, and big on space for a family/group of four or five.
The living room has a comfortable sofa and two chairs and stocked with books and board games for those lazy "but I hiked yesterday" days. Stream your favorite music in our Sonos speakers. Our Roku TV lets you sign into your favorite streaming channels for entertainment. A crackling wood stove is an alternative to the propane heater for those cold winter nights.
The deck off living room has comfortable chairs to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the morning or engage in after dinner conversations and games.
Kitchen: The kitchen is fully stocked with all the appliances and cookware you would need for cooking including an Instant Pot. For the coffee lover, we have Hario pour over setup, a Ninja coffee maker, and a Mokapot along with a coffee grinder.
Master Bedroom: The Master Bedroom has a king bed, a work desk and chair. It has reach out reading lights for comfortable reading in bed.
Bedroom 2: Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and a short/narrow twin that will work for a kid or a teen.
Loft: Loft has a queen futon for extra sleeping space. It is setup to be a yoga/meditation studio with yoga mats and an exercise ball. Think of this space as a sanctuary within a sanctuary!
Bathroom: The bathroom has dual sinks and a shower. We have a tankless hot water heater to supply endless amount of hot water for your showers. A full size washer and dryer is inside the bathroom as well.
Amenities: We supply towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and laundry detergent.
Steps to the cabin:
Our cabin is on a hill side and there are twenty five steps down to the cabin from where you park next to the road. You would need to take your luggage and supplies down the steps to the cabin. There is no handicap ramp to the door. Please plan accordingly.
Electric Vehicle Charging (Additional Cost):
We have a level 2 EV charger in the property for an additional cost. We will let you know exactly how much you used during your stay and charge you what the power company will charge us for KWH used at the end of your trip. Tesla owners, don’t forget to get your J1772 adapter!
No dishwasher:
We do NOT have a dishwasher. So, someone in your group must become the designated one :-)
Internet/Cellular:
We have Starlink High Speed Internet! You entire group can be on Zoom calls and stream entertainment without any buffering! Verizon and AT&T cellular works well also!
Winter Driving AWD/4WD:
In winter, typically November through April, you should plan to travel to our home in a 4WD/AWD and carry chains. We are on a county maintained road but highway conditions can change anytime and CalTrans could enforce chain control anytime under heavy snow.
Heating:
We have a modern propane heater in the living area that keeps all the rooms warm in winter. Just set the desired temperature in the thermostat and you should be comfortable through your stay.
Cooling:
We do not have central air nor do we need one. We are at 5000 ft, among tall 100+ foot trees. The house is naturally pleasant all summer. We have ceiling fans in every room to keep things cool even in warm afternoons.
Pets:
We are pet-friendly. If you are bringing your pet, please let us know when you book. We charge an of $50/per pet per stay for additional cleaning. Below are the house rules that you MUST follow:
- Pet must be house broken
- Pets are NOT allowed on any furniture or beds
- Pet MUST NOT be left unattended at home anytime
- You should pick up after the pet in and around the property
Exterior Security Camera:
We have a security camera looking out from the front of the house to monitor the driveway and the path to the house.
