A January staycation weekend at Omni Viking Lakes with dinner at Kyndred Hearth is now our welcome anniversary tradition. This most recent visit was our second stay, and our first as loyalty program members. It was so nice to get a personal reach out ahead of the weekend to see if we were celebrating anything (we were!) and needed any particular assistance. Though this winter unfortunately didn't accommodate the Ice Maze, it was cool to have SKOLstice nearby. As it always is, the hotel is clean and comfortable throughout. Apart from the first floor restaurant, Ember & Ice also offers great food and drinks, and we enjoy breakfast there in particular. It was 3 of us traveling (my wife and I plus our 8 y.o.) and we were more than happy with our king deluxe room. The kiddo joined us in the bed one night and crashed on the chaise lounge the other. The views overlooking TCO Stadium and the pond area in front of it are lovely. And even with all of the activity going on, I'm always impressed by how quiet it is inside the rooms.
That said, we do hope two relatively minor things will improve on our next visit. One, the indoor pool, while very nice and the room it's in comfortably warm, is kept a bit chillier than ideal, especially for kids. Two, our final night/morning there was jarringly interrupted beginning about 5 am by people (we think staff) opening the stairwell and/or other doors and allowing them to slam closed over and over again for several hours.
