"I loved this hotel so so much! The staff was fantastic"

"Delughtful hotel! Our room was great, and we loved the roof top onsen. The breakfast was amazing, with a lot of local options with descriptions, which is always fun to try. We also had parking for our car, this was at an additional fee. Great area though, easily walking distance to the main streets and alleys."

"Very nice ryokan. We loved the Japanese clothes provided, and dressing for meals. The onsen was excellent (thought we wish it stayed open one more hour at night). Japanese breakfast was excellent. Convenient to the train station (a couple of blocks) and all of the Takayama attractions (walking, by bus, or by taxi). This is a justifiably difficult reservation to obtain during peak season. "

"Amazing hotel, Amazing service, Great onsen both private and public. The onsen was amazingly clean and maintained. The breafast met both western and local needs. The location near the Takayama train station and also nearby the old city is a huge plus. Highly recomnended."

"A short distance from Takayama Station within walking distance. Excellent service include free flow of ice pop and a bowl of simple ramen as supper. Onsen view overlooking northern alps during clear weather. Pte onsen usage could have improved by booking slot to prevent time slot over run served as a reminder. During my stay, encounter a foreign couple being inconsiderate who occupied more than 1 hour. "

"Staff were very good. Check in & out easy. Could do with black tea bags for guests. Only supplied 2 green tea bags, no bottled water. Bathroom a couple of hooks on door for towels would help. No complaints at all just suggestions for a better experience. Not far from station, food and old town. "

"Located about a 30 min walk from the bus terminal, the hotel runs a silver van shuttle every 20 minutes or so. This is a newer hotel, but has many delightful traditional elements. The whole place has a tatami mat like flooring, so shoes are left in lockers upon entering. The lobby area is built with old looking timber in the style of gasho buildings. The rooms were wonderfully done with the nice smell of tatami. The baths are wonderful with both interior and outside tubs in a variety of styles. They offer up nice extras like popsicles, free coffee after baths, and a 10:00 PM bowl of ramen, wonderful after an evening soak in the hotsprings. They have dinner and breakfast options at the hotel, but you need to order when you make your reservation, not on the spot when you arrive. We didn’t and soon found the eating options in town are limited. We did manage to find a nice yakiniku shop a 20 min walk from the hotel (call and reserve ahead when you check in) The atmosphere of the hotel is wonderful and very much in the culture of ryokan. "
