The Swank cabins of Eagle River are back by popular demand. In the 1940s my Great Grandparents Jim and Norma Swank came to Eagle River as tourists and fell in love with the town’s peace and tranquility. Shortly after buying the property on Pine street and building our house, these two cabins (The Moose and the Bear) were built. Not long after that, the Swank Beach Motel (Now the Fitzgerald) was established. Take a trip into the past while visiting Copper Island. When renting with us you will have the property all to yourself. With 3 queen beds, this cozy retreat offers a pleasant amount of living space and sleeps six adults.
With Lake Superior less than a block away , you can see for yourself if the rumors of her crystal clear waters are true or not. I won’t spoil the surprise, but you will feel as if you are in a tropical paradise when stepping into the cleanest, most beautiful water on earth.the all sand bottom of the lake is our favorite feature for obvious reasons. If you are a night owl, you can load up the solo stove and star gaze, you may even catch the Northern Lights. If you are an outdoor enthusiast the options are endless.
McClain State park, Estivant Pines Nature Sanctuary, Isle Royale National Park and Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park are all local favorites. From Copper Harbor to Ontonagon, Eagle River puts you right in the middle of all of the action of the western upper peninsula.
