Stunning View

The view of the forest and lake were absolutely stunning! There is a view literally from almost every room in the house. Fall colors were beautiful. Very quiet and very secluded. Can't wait to return.

We had a great time. Property was so unique and private. Just amazing views!! Probably the best vacation property I’ve ever stayed at. Mark was a great host, he walked us through everything and was so gracious. We will definitely come back!!!

Birdie’s Place is the Best

We will definitely stay again! Birdie’s Place was even better than the photos. Attention to detail in every room from the inside out. Quaint touches everywhere. Well stocked kitchen, bath, and bedrooms. Beds were extremely comfortable. Honestly, I could go on and on…this is a must stay. Beautiful, but short drive from Lindale and enjoyed the longhorns next door.

The view!

A beautiful, secluded property like no other place we've ever stayed. Very clean, with comfortable beds and high quality bedding. Sonos sound system. Plenty of seating inside and out. As much firewood as we could use. Truly a gem. We hope to be back next year.

Beautiful middle of nowhere wilderness retreat

No other houses for miles, surrounded by views of superior, comfortable accommodations, access to shops and hiking in 10 minutes, wilderness quiet. Only issue was no blinds during longest days of the year. Only around 4 hours of darkness every night while we were there in June. Very challenging for sleeping to those of us used to dark out blinds.

Beautiful and Secluded

I loved it. The cabin is luxurious and surrounded by acres and acres of unspoiled forest with an excellent view of Lake Superior. Astonishingly quiet. Lots of freighters sailing by to watch or count. I hope to return someday soon.

Fantastic and beautiful property. The views from the deck are phenomenal, watching the freighters go by everyday was peacefully nostalgic. Great access to mountain biking right nearby, plenty of beds and space for our group and our pups. Mark was a great host, showed us a couple things on arrival and was extremely accommodating. Definitely planning on staying again sometime.

Best Copper Harbor Views!

This is such a beautiful property and the only house right on Brockway mountain. Mark was incredibly helpful the entire stay in making sure any issue was fixed. You’ve gotta stay here!

One of a kind mountain stay

Brockway Mountain is an incredible location with views to take the breath away. The house is situated in a uniquely beautiful spot with wonderful scenery above the trees and the lake. There is a trade-off between convenience and the incredible beauty and peace of mountain living. Visitors should be prepared for "off the grid" living; we stayed in September, and on cloudy days there was no solar power after sunset. There is a generator that adds power but it is very noisy; a quieter generator would make a world of difference. We had no cell service while there, but the house has a good star-link satellite set-up for internet - however, it needs power to run. The house is adequately appointed except for the kitchen which lacks good pots and pans (very scratched teflon). Despite the off-grid challenges, we would visit again because the location, serenity and vistas are truly one of a kind.

Water issues

According to host well went dry on previous guest so host was trying to bring in water. We ran our one day and had to restrict our water usage for all of stay. The host did give us a partial refund but I felt is was the hosts responsibility to inform us of his water issues prior to our arrival and give us the opportunity to cancel with a full refund rather than having us arrival and be stuck dealing with water shortages for our entire stay. also house is off grid and power shut off two morning requiring us to go outside and switch on a very noisy generator.

Family getaway overlooking Lake Superior

Amazing Stay

This is truly a one of a kind property, so beautiful! We visited over the 4th of July holiday and watched the Copper Harbor fireworks right from the deck. We enjoyed amazing sunrises every day and the view of passing freighters each day and night. So peaceful! Very private, yet close enough to Copper Harbor, Eagle Harbor and LacLabelle for great adventures! House was perfect and check in was easy. We will be back! Amazing Views!

Wonderful stay. Jump on trails a short distance from driveway, take shuttle back up at end of the day. Has to be the best views in Copper Harbor from the decks.

Amazing Location

This property is all about location! Our Michigan traveling book called Brockway Mountain Drive the most scenic in Michigan, and we’re not surprised. Our understanding is that this is the only private property on the mountain! The place is large and spacious with more than enough room for our family of 7. We had a lot of downtime and that was our plan. There are a couple of hiking trails on the property itself, and others nearby. We drove to the top of the mountain to the overlook to see a spectacular sunset over the lake. Sunrises (over the lake) are incredible at the property itself, but there is also an overlook along the road that has a great view of the sunrise over Copper Harbor. It was also fun for our kids to see the ship traffic. Mark is great to work with. There were a couple of issues with two of the (four) bathrooms, but we had workarounds that were fine. We were cognizant of being off the grid, and conservative with water, electricity, and propane use, but had no issues. Mark was fun to talk to. Very friendly and responsive. Copper Harbor is a great little town. We took advantage of the bakery and a very well stocked small grocery store. Great hiking at Hunters Point right near town along the Harbor peninsula. We definitely recommend this place!

Breathtaking view!

Everything in the cabin fit the character of the home making it a one of a kind home. The drive to the house alone was an adventure! Mark was an excellent host and easy to work with. We had everything we needed. It’s something everyone should experience for themselves.
