Lovely Place To Stay

We had a short but lovely time at Monkey Beach House. We all wanted to stay longer, but unfortunately we had time constraints. Abdalla was amazing as a person as well as a chef. Irene was also very lovely and so kind. Magda was a breeze to communicate despite time differences, she was very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

great location and wonderful staff

I rented two properties on Tamani compound adjacent to each other for a 'round' birthday celebration. The location on Galu Beach (an old favourite) is amazing, with stunning views across the pool to the palm-lined white sand and azure sea. The house staff, especially Abdallah the cook, played an important role in making us feel at home and well taken care of. The first floor open verada with the large dining table was a beautiful venue for our meals. While the house is nicely decorated, it's a bit dark, with the exception of the main beach-facing bedroom. This isn't helped by cream-coloured walls, giving the place a bit of a tired feel (the exterior of the house could also do with a paint job). Overall, especially compared with the adjacent (above-mentioned) house, I was not convinced by the value offered for the price paid. In renting the house, also bear in mind that it's on a compound with quite a few other houses, the tenants of which occupy the shared pool and beach front area during the day and evening. As such, it has more of a hotel feel to it than I expected from the pictures.
