"The staff was excellent, beautiful grounds and the Luxes rooms have best view of the piton on the island. You have million dollar views. Food is good, a little overpriced in my opinion, but good food.
Pool was pretty cold, wasn’t much relaxing to swim in.
The bugs in the room was the hardest part. There is mosquito netting, but that can only do so much. We still got A LOT of mosquito bites throughout the stay (even with taking all precautions…bug spray, netting, clearing the area with bug swatter, etc.).
We felt there is a lot of simple things that could be done to help with the bugs. Like screen doors for the patio or a simple additional netting for the patio door to be put out at night. Also felt the netting for the bed could be lower to the ground so that they cannot sneak in from below.
It was a great one time experience for us, and would still recommend going when visiting st Lucia. But I could not imagine us going back for another stay due to the bugs at night.
Would recommend long sleeves and pants for not only going out at night but also to sleep in."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at Coconut Bay. Gillie worked so hard as part of the entertainment crew and connected daily with both of our daughters to make sure they were having a good time. Chef Wendy went out of her way to make special gluten free pancakes for our daughter each morning and even put the toppings on just the way my daughter likes. Chard, Jomiah, and Denver were all part of the restaurant staff we visited during our stay. They were very friendly and thoughtful, making our time that much more enjoyable. Everyone was kind and helpful throughout the week. We will definitely spread the word about visiting this resort!"
"One of the waitress there kept flirting with my husband. He in turn broke the boundaries of our relationship. What was supposed to be a happy romantic getaway turned to be the trip that led to my divorce. I wish staff would’ve been more professional but I’m grateful that this trip revealed some ugly truths"
Royalton Saint Lucia, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
6/10 Okay
"1. I upgraded to a room with a pool. However, when we got to the room, the phone did not work. I reported the phone to guest services daily and everyday they apologized and said they would get someone to fix it. IT WAS NEVER FIXED!! Therefore, my 81 year old mother and I were not able to order room service the entire time we were at the Royalton.
2. I traveled with a group of about 20-25 people and on Saturday we rented all of the Cabanas. It was either 5 or 6 Cabanas that we paid for. We were free to order any food we wanted and any top shelf drinks we wanted. We had 1 man (Kerry) who was responsible for taking care of all of us. Even when we asked Kerry's manager to help, he did not. While Kerry did the best he could, it was a lot for 1 person and I feel as though there should have been at least 2 people working the Cabana area. Because Kerry was unable to keep up with the number of drinks and food that we were ordering (25 people ordering unlimited food and drinks) we were forced to go and retrieve our own drinks. After paying for the luxury, we had to serve ourselves. This was not Kerry's fault, but it was management's fault, because he should have had help with such a large group. And we were tipping!
3. Servers in the buffet-there was a very obvious difference in how people of color, like us, were treated verses our white counterparts. We were ignored by your servers while they catered to the white guests. And we were tipping.
4 DO BETTER!"
"Excellent location. 45 minutes transfer from UVF International Airport. 15 minutes drive to Soufrière town, Gros Pitón, Sugar Beach, Sulphur Springs. 25 minutes drive to a must see Anse Chastanet beach.
Accommodation.
I stayed in a hilltop shabby chic style cottage with a plunge in pool. It’s all you need and more - a deck with two lounge chairs and a couch complimented by a stunning rainforest view. The chic is getting a tard shabby - I hope the resort will renovate at some point. I don’t recall I’ve seen the plunge in pool being cleaned. The hilltop is windy and drops foliage into it - hard to catch up with cleaning, however, if the cottage was equipped with pool skimmer net, it would be helpful.
Amenities - very well maintained.
Beautiful territory-you don’t need a tour to Diamond Botanical Gardens, you stay in one.
Customer service.
Exceptional. Special thanks to the Front Desk ladies - Feresia and Albertha - for answering my numerous questions, booking all my tours and island transportation, including airport transfer.
Practical tips.
Standard power outlet is type G, 3-pin rectangular plug. Bring adopters if you are a non-UK visitor.
Tropical rainforest comes with mosquitoes and symphony orchestra of nocturnal creatures.
Mosquitoes are supposedly active at dusk and dawn. My experience- they are active 24/7. Do not step out without repellent on. Use bed mosquito screen. Bring plug in mosquito traps and after bite ointment.
Check your end-tables for ear plugs, unles"
Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"It was our first time in St Lucia and at a Royalton resort. We had a great experience and would definitely go back. Our room was nice and spacious, we did have a ceiling leak one day when we came back but maintenance came and fixed it in about an hour and no issues after that. There were lots of bar options, especially if you are at Hideaway. They have plenty of drink options, we could always get what we wanted. You have to plan if you want a snack later in the afternoon as the lunch buffet closes at 330pm and the food truck actually starts to shut down earlier (like 330pm) than the 5pm stated time on the app and has limited options after about 3pm we found. We tried room service but it was a long wait so we canceled the order. The pizza option was great, as well as the hideaway grill. We never went hungry. All the restaurants were pretty good. The staff were all very friendly. There were some activities posted on the board though that never happened (adult pool Aquafit, beach slide party), so you would need to check with the Vibe team if an activity is actually going to happen. The beach is nice and is only for the one resort. There was some construction happening at the restaurant by the Hideaway beach, so we moved to the pool area when that work was going on."
