「Excellent 4 day stay during height of summer at Salty Lodge. Literally steps from the busy Old town, but area is very safe and somewhat quieter. The rooms are pretty spacious for our family of four, with a veranda that looks out/down to the street activity, stores and restaurants. Shower has pretty good water pressure, no shortage of hot water and rooms have comfy beds. We enjoyed the 5th floor rooftop, oh the views! Make sure to it out at sunrise. 「Honestly when I read the reviews about this place after my husband booked, I was very sceptical. People said it was dirty, had cockroaches, no hot water. None of this was true. About the hot water, you must realize that water heaters in Europe are half the size of North American ones. We had plenty of hot water. The only thing we didn't like are the beds are a little hard but it was the same at the previous place we stayed. We made do. Also tile floors are always cold which I'm not fond of but...

「Stayed here for ten nights. Very friendly owners with the apartment well stocked with the basic necessities upon arrival including a bottle of wine (a very nice touch). Apartment is spotlessly clean. Situated only a five minute walk from the centre of Alvor with the Pingo Doce supermarket just around the corner. The complex is very quiet so if looking for a peaceful holiday then this place is definitely for you. 」
