"This is an idyllic place to stay, away from the crowds, on a wooded hillside surrounded by nature. The hosts, Heidi and Johannes, were very welcoming. The accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed. It is a short drive to Tavira, which has a good selection of cafés and restaurants and the nearby village of Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo also has a small convenience store. The location is perfect, both for access to beaches and for hiking in the hills."

"We grew up in Spain but live in the US. We wanted to go back and visit family and rented Gaby's house. We absolutely loved the time we had there. The pool is beautiful, the outdoors grill area was something we used every day and the layout of the rooms is great: my wife and I had the master bedroom upstairs while my inlaws were on the first floor. Gaby and her husband were very nice and super responsive. Overall, we had an amazing time!"

"This is a lovely property that is very close to the beach and a 5 min cycle ride to Monte Gordo. There is also a nearby shop attached to a cafe that is perfect for essentials. The beach itself (5 mins walk away) is stunning and seems to go on forever. As is clear from the pictures, decoratively the house is a tad dated inside. For those who don't mind this, however, it offers a perfect Algarve beach house. Although the house has 5 bedrooms, the small living area would make it a bit of a squeeze...

"The location was great. Unfortunately there was only one comfortable (two person) couch. The plumbing was a real problem, one of the bathrooms had a plugged toilet when we arrived. The problem was dealt with quickly - thank you. After it was cleared we chose not to use it. A smell endured from that bathroom for the remainder of our stay."

"Great hotel and very friendly staff. The outside pool is cold. Reception staff went above and beyond. We arrived at 1 in the morning and still got checked in after calling the out of hours number. Check in only took 5 mins. Walking distance to the beach although there are no pavements so you need to walk on the road. "

"Amazing stay! Everything was excellent from start to finish. Staff from the restaurant was super efficient and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious with good variety. Very clean. "I had read some bad reviews about this property but I thought it was excellent! Nice, quiet, comfortable room and bed, great helpful staff and a lovely breakfast each day. Walkable to the beach and amenities in 5-10mins. Easy free parking (I stayed in April/May but from 1st June to 1st September I was told that is when the parking is chargeable). If you want entertainment and a party destination, go to Albufeira. If you want a relaxed and chilled place, Monte Gordo is great and so is this hotel....
