“Conveniently located within the town but secluded enough that it was always peaceful like a good hideaway.
The breakfast was great and the all day tea and afternoon popcorn was a delight. I appreciated that guests were able to use the kitchen and designated fridge.
The deck area where you could lounge while you read, ate, or just enjoy company with a great view was an added bonus.

“My husband and I enjoyed our stay in a bungalow at Hotel Tangara Arenal. The bungalow was beautifully furnished with everything we needed and the lush tropical trees surrounding it gave us privacy. We felt like we were on our own private retreat.
For our free breakfast, the Tangara offered a breakfast menu with several great choices. We were really impressed with that!
We also ate at the restaurant the first night and the seafood pasta was excellent.

“What a gem! Cost was totally reasonable- particularly given the quality of the included breakfast. The rooms were clean, the hostel enjoys beautiful views and you get a sense like you are nestled in the mountain. The only downside is that it is a 15 min walk to most restaurants and you need to either drive or take a VERY steep walk up the hill to return from town. “We had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Cipreses! The staff were so warm and friendly, and really made us feel at home. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was delicious and filling. They were also very accommodating with our plans, which we really appreciated. One of the highlights was the night animal tour with Ellie. It was fantastic! We saw so many animals and the kids loved it. Highly recommend this hotel for a cozy and welcoming stay in Monteverde. ”

“My husband and I recently stayed at Fincas Aquarius for two nights while exploring Monteverde, as we wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle.
The location is a little difficult to get to without a good car, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. Fincas Aquarius is nestled in a beautiful valley, with wide-sweeping views all the way down to the ocean. It’s honestly breathtakingly beautiful.

“Honestly this place was great. I saw birds roght out my patio window and looked out to the mountains. It was a great value and the owner and his family were very friendly and welcoming. “Highly recommended location, I really enjoyed staying here at this family run B&B. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was really nice, my room was great, very quiet and comfy. The gardens are lovely and there is a great little deck to watch the sunset. Although the place is down and unpaved road I was only in a tiny 2wd car and this (and everywhere else in the area) easily accessible, just take it very slow. Would definitely stay here again ”
