Your private home in the Monteverde forest! Close to parks and downtown

The Sun House is located in Monteverde among forest and green pastures. The best thing about the property is the view of the Gulf of Nicoya and other Pacific islands. Our guests enjoy an open area with full kitchen, dining room and outside BBQ. The house has an spacious deck where you can take in the forest view and the ocean view. out the attractions and restaurants in the area.
This house is perfect for a family of 5. We offer two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a queen size bed and a private bathroom and the second bedroom has two twin size beds. There is a comfortable sofa-bed for the 5th person.

Evelyn was a good host but needs to draw a better map as google did not work very good in Monteverde. (Worked great everywhere else). Even if it is working for you, it’s still confusing as the little access road doesn’t register on maps. The place is almost brand new and with higher end finishes. The kitchen is well equipped and beds are comfortable. The view is amazing if it’s not too cloudy.

Great view from the balcony. House was close to town. Google maps took us to a different location and took us a while to find it. The house was clean and well equipped. We appreciated Evelyn’s help in arranging a guide for us. We enjoyed our stay!

Great location!

This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the action in Monteverde. We booked it in order to be close to Selvatura park for zip lining. It has a great view and Evelyn was very communicative and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The kids loved waking to the howler monkeys in the morning and watching all of the hummingbirds on the property. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay.The host was very open.Answering our calls whenever we needed anything.The house was extremely clean and cool.Even though there was no air conditioning we never felt like we needed it. Favorite stay

This was my family’s favorite stay in Costa Rica. If we were at the house we were on the back deck. (Beautiful views) Evelyn was the best host. She was quick to answer any questions and give recommendations. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. We loved it.

Wonderful home!

My family of 4 loved this home in Monteverde. Beautiful views, nice and peaceful, lovely stay. Beds were comfy, nice hot showers, plenty of room. We especially enjoyed the balcony in the mornings watching all of the birds. Host was super quick and responsive with any questions I had. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if in the area!

Beautiful Monteverde home

If you are looking for a place to stay in Monteverde, look no further. This is a beautiful home located near town that offers so much. The house was incredibly clean and offered lots of space for our house. Sitting on the patio looking out on the forest never gets old. Finally, Evelyn the host is highly communicative and offers great local tips. Highly recommended!

Beautiful views

Evelyn was really nice and personable. She brought us cookware when what was there was damaged. The house is beautiful and the view is amazing. We saw rainbows every morning and beautiful sunsets every evening. It is walkable from town but the walk does have some steep hills. There is construction going on Nextdoor but it didn’t disturb us at all.

BEAUTIFUL HOME!

Sunset house 1 is beautiful! It has all the comforts of home and is in a great location! The downtown and adventure tours are very close by. Evelyn is very friendly and extremely helpful with advice about local attractions and culture. The farm tour down the street (milking cows) was very interesting. We would highly recommend staying here. It was a highlight of our trip!!

Lovely Chalet With Amazing View Down the Hillside to Monteverde and the Gulf of Nicoya

We were a family of four and throughly enjoyed our three days here. Such a lovely place with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is close to town and various sites and activities, but also up the hillside enough to be peaceful and restful. Our host, Evelyn, was so great to deal with. Thank you for such a lovely and comfortable base to explore the Monteverde area.

The house is spotless, well-equipped and extremely comfortable. Our host Evelyn met us shortly after we arrived and gave us so much helpful info about the area and activities we could enjoy during our stay. The view of the bay is lovely.

Don’t miss out on this gem!!

I simply cannot say enough good things about The Sunhouse - from the amazing location, to the sweetest host ever, to the beautifully maintained and outfitted home - this is a true gem in the mountains of Monteverde! We were beyond thrilled with our accommodations and I cannot recommend The Sunhouse enough! Evelyn is simply wonderful and so helpful. She helped book our night tour with Roy, a guide with a genuine love and passion for the forest he calls home. My husband declared it his favourite part of the trip. Thank you Evelyn for helping make our family trip one for the ages!

The Sun House was great! We very much enjoyed our stay. The house is very comfortable, and has amazing views. Evelyn was great and was always available. The location of the house was great as well and is a couple minute drive from Santa Elena. Make sure you try the pizza at Pizzeria Rome...one minute drive from the house!!

Perfect stay

Our multigenerational family of six had a wonderful stay at the Sun House. The home is clean, beautiful, and comfortable with an amazing view. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials and we really appreciated the children’s books and toys. We loved the balcony - we saw many species of birds and heard howler monkeys. Evelyn is a gracious and responsive host who is very knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely be back!
