“The general take away was everything is either a bit or on its way to being very run down. It was all clean enough, floors, kitchen, linens, and bathrooms. But even then, visible wear and tear (visibly dirty couch, grimey tiles, and hard to close kitchen cabinets). The hot water heater, we found, was initially turned off, but even when we turned it back on, the water never really got hot in the showers. The pool, while I understand we are in the desert and exposed, seemed dirtier than we would……

“Except we were email/ call 3 times with 24 hours before check-in (I couldn’t help but guessed it was due to they had nobody working after 9pm), everything was beating expectation. Room was decent. Service was excellent - TV remote was available (for our device to connect to hdmi) the minute we asked ; room was cleaned, bed were made, towel replaced, bathroom was cleaned, garbage was cleared daily - which was not the case in most of the motel. We were so excited to bbq in motel public area……
