Great place for big groups
Great set-up for large group. The separate kitchen/dining area provides a central location for the whole group and was well equipped to prepare meals for 20 people.

Wonderful place for my dad & a few long time buddies to catch up. We loved the kitchen/dining building . We cooked & ate like kings. Had good time fishing , playing horse shoes & catching up. Place is amazing for large groups. Ray even help us out with jumper cables when one of our trucks was dead on Sunday Morning.

Fun Times in Mt Ida
Great for large families, especially in the middle of summer with great things to do for small and large kids at the camp. Not many bugs to bite us, and we loved the firepit and the smores kit Ray left for us. The stand alone ice maker was wonderful since it managed to keep up with a group of 18 and it was HOT. The air conditioning working well in all buildings was a blessing. We liked the double fridges and the large dining hall. The bunkhouse having two bathrooms and the comfortable beds were great. The hunters in the group loved the cabin decor. The entire place was very clean and well kept up. The river was very close and the water was not too cold. We loved the rental. Chrystal mining, groceries and Dollar General just minutes away. We would love to come back someday.

Peace and Space to relax
We were a group of 17 (12 Adults and 5 kids). This place was perfect! Ray was super communicative and was even able to help our guests who arrived early out. A communal dining hall, bunk house, and main cabin was way more space than we actually needed but we had no issues getting comfortable with the extra space. River access was just down the street, was able to do some Kayaking right by the property. The hour drive to Hot Springs was perfect for the kids to take naps before exploring the town. We also went to Lake Ouachita State park and found it to be very clean. The outdoor space was nice so that the kids could just be free and play around. If you have a large group this is a fantastic place to stay. Just as an FYI, there are no bath tubs. Our kids had no issues with taking showers but we do have other parent friends that only bath their kids in tubs. Would leave 10 stars if I could!

Amazing group location!!!!! (Church Retreat)
We brought our church youth group for a Church camp retreat. Not only were the amenities great- large bunk house for youth, adult cabin and extra kitchen/meeting space, the amenities made it an ideal location for everyone involved. - Actual beds for all - AC in the buildings for comfortable gatherings - a convenient but tucked away location making it easy to unplug and unwind - plenty of yard space for games and activities - close to a lot of surrounding activities (we recommend the river, lake, and nearby gem mining!!!) From a rental- process perspective: - basics are taken care of so the packing list was minimal for easy travel. - Ray (owner) is kind, considerate, quick to respond to communications and makes everything a breeze! The kids are already begging to go back! Highly recommend for any family, work or church group gathering- for us it was a great place to build friendships and faith!!!! 💕

Perfect place!!
This place was absolutely perfect for our needs. We were in town for our sons wedding so bunkhouse was great for groomsmen. Dining hall was perfect for rehearsal dinner. Kids loved the games and karaoke machine. Lots of places for kids to sit and hang out. Forgot my crockpot but found two on site to use. Owner allowed early checkin for my elderly parents. Wonderful, wonderful place!!!

Church Camp
The property worked perfectly for our camp. The main plus for us was the dedicated mess hall. We were able to hold our services there as well as all eat in one location. The host was very hospitable and quick to respond to all questions.

Perfect for Family of 18
The property was perfect for my family of 18. Our grandkids loved having their own bunkhouse and the mess hall made feeding a large group easy. The place was very nice and we will stay again. All excursions were close and great adventures. We loved Hickory Hill Cabins.

Fantastic accommodations for large groups
We loved our stay at Hickory Hill. Our family plus our oldest daughter's college friends totaled 10 as a group, and we were very comfortable with more than enough room. For this trip we went to Twin Creek Crystal Mine twice (our favorite in the area), and the drive was only about 25 minutes. Mount Ida is 10 minutes away and has a good sized grocery store to stock the generous fridge/freezer space in the kitchen. This property is beautiful and Ray has numerous details covered for large groups to enjoy their stay. He was very easy to contact, helpful, and conscientious to take care of any issues. We'll stay again on a future trip.

Easy Transaction
Good communication with Ray the owner. We had to delay our arrival by one day due to an ice storm in Dallas. Ray responded quickly every time as we worked out our plans.
