I really enjoyed myself. The complex is amazing. The food is always good. One problem. The flies n the mosquitoes were very bad. I had to get an allergy injection from the onsite clinic after the normal allergy meds didn’t help the pain swelling n itching. So if you come to this property make sure you bring mosquito repellent and allergy medications.

Lovely property location and clean rooms sadly the VIP perk of the room upgrade was not honoured . Bait al Bahar seafood was was absolutely outstanding on two occasions

I enjoyed my stay at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, Muscat. The view of the sea from my balcony was stunning. The room was nice, but the furniture was a little warped (probably from the humidity from the sea). I had one bad experience with the Samba restaurant for lunch and I would suggest parents not allow their children to serve themselves at breakfast. Some children were using their hands to take foods like bread vice using tongs. This is not sanitary. Also, I think someone was smoking on a balcony below me, as I could smell strong cigarette smoke while sitting on my balcony. That said, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Note: there is an adults-only property at Shangri-La.

It’s a beautiful resort but I wish I had known that Al Waha side is mainly for families. We were not expecting lots of screaming kids the entire time. I would have stayed at Al Bandhar or Al Husn. The food was excellent and the service was good but slow. Especially ordering coffee and drinks.

We loved this property for there easy beach access, great service but most of all the kid friendly activities they had. From water park features, to the lazy river, pool slides, and kid zone where you can drop your kids off for a fun time. The beauty of the surroundings was unmatched. We enjoyed every moment of being there.

Отличный отель,шикарный пляж,вежливые работники,отличные бассейны.Что не понравилось,завтраки можно сделать более разнообразными,детей 12 лет не пускают в спа,в джакузи,и.т.д. При этом за буфет берут с детей полную стоимость. Очень дорогие рестораны на территории отеля.

We loved staying here. We have a young family and it had all the facilities we needed - beautiful pools, beach, amazing buffet options. Also, the staff couldn’t be more helpful when it came to organising trips.

The hotel is dated and in dire need of renovation. Service is poor. The room rate and f&b are very overpriced. We had a really underwhelming trip and expected a lot better for the amount of money we spent.

Quality of service massively deteriorated. The hotel doesn’t follow through on the list of planned activities and often you mobilize for a scheduled activity to realize the activity is cancelled. The quality of information received is inconsistent between staffs: if you ask the same question to 2 members of the staff you get 2 different answers often impacting the quality of your experience. The facilities are very old too. Only good thing is that the resort is children friendly and kids are happy but adults do not have a good experience.

Good but not Shangri-La good
This is a great family resort - lovely beach, lazy river, pools galore. We’ve had a great stay and I’d recommend. But, having been to other Shangri-La hotels it doesn’t live up to the same 5 star high quality standards. Service is a little poor, food is overpriced and standards overall not quite as we would have expected for the price. Perhaps Al Husn is a different.

Location, location, location! This property is nestled in the mountains, sitting on the beach, with ocean views that are beyond stunning. Three resorts combined in one is truly top-notch. We stayed at Al Waha and had an amazing experience. The staff was welcoming and kind. Service was top-notch. We splurged and got the clifftop breakfast. Our waiter Jessen was amazing, the views were stunning, and romantic would be an understatement for describing the clifftop experience.

The hotel itself is quite pricey yet the service and quality of product do make up for it. Breakfast was delicious. Afternoon tea with snacks and pre-dinner cocktail hour in the courtyard with live music were definitely a nice touch. A warm thank you to front desk for making my stay so pleasant, your connection and genuine friendliness really made me feel right at home.

Outdated hotel, far from being a 5 star! The rooms and resort are dated in desperate need of a refurbishment. The hotel is far from a 5 star but rather a 3+ resort. Restaurants are overpriced with average quality of food. Very canteen style, both for a la carte and buffet restaurants.

This is easily the top 3 resorts that we have visited with a toddler. In fact, it was so nice that we extended our stay for another 5 days. The service was top notch and we enjoyed the great varieties of cuisines available in the resort. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that our stay is comfortable and memorable and put a nice individual touch to it. We appreciate that the front desk staff and restaurants staff remembered our names from day 1 and are always so cheerful. The excursions were well organized and I felt pampered at the Chi spa. There are a lot of kid-friendly activities onsite, including a few kiddie pools with different themes, and the lazy river was a hit with our 3-year-old. There is a great indoor playground "adventure zone" located not far from the Chi spa and has giant slides and an impressive vintage car collection. The adventure zone complements the kids club located in Al Waha and we had great fun in both!

This hotel site consists of 3 hotels - which expands the selection and choices of restaurants and amenities. The room sizes are standard and if they are larger it will be better.

Picked the hotel for the water related amenities, the pools and lazy river did not disappoint my 6 year old or us adults. The beach is lovely and private. The staff are very very attentive and pleasure to be served by them. The rooms are 4.5 stars. The difference between the hotels (3 on the same site) only clear when we were there. Husn is for adults, Bandar is mixed business and family; Waha is family orientated. Good amount of things for kids to do. The problems : there is nothing around ; it is 30-45 mins into Muscat (not hard but need a car, taxis too expensive) ; the restaurants were limited and always booked, several guests complained of the same, so you end up with basic menu in poolside restaurants. Biggest problem is a basic meal for family (nothing fancy) came to OM 35 over £70 ! Similar in Muscat would have been 15 OM. You can spend £100 a day on basic level food if they eat here only. Advice, get a car on deal site from airport. Airport taxi was £70/35 OM ! Or stay in Muscat. But pool facilities are really good. Also, get the breakfast included. Overall, despite the problems, I would return to stay but plan it better.

Beautiful place
It is wonderful hotel with amazing staffs , but photos are a bit misleading as most of photos are from al bandar site , so if you book other sites, you have no access to infinity pool for example.

Property by itself is huge area, and its not in general all bad, what is bad is the fact that once you book for the complex they automatically resend your reservation to the Al Waha Hotel which is the third in line of ShangriLa and far away from 5 star lux hotel complex, the facility needs some urgent renovations and the gas smell inside and outside the resort is far from eco-friendly. Food was disaster (Samba bar is lacking in cleanliness and quality). People working there however were nice and pleasant. Room is far away from “lux and 5 star classification “
