The hotel reeked of cigarette smoke. Luckily our room didn't. Turns out "smoke-free property" really means no smoking in your particular UNIT. The lamp in the living room end table was propped up against the wall and when I tried to turn on the switch, turns out the lamp was broken so the top fell over. The "queen" bed was really just a full size stuck down inside a queen frame with no foundation. Patio door would not properly close in the bedroom, so had to go out to the balcony via the living room which was annoying. Both toilet paper holders were broken, and the hand towel holder was pulled was pulled out of the wall.
These things could have been overlooked and I would have left a higher score, had it not been for the unbelievably sarcastic and unprofessional attitude of "Morgan" from the property management company, Coastline Beach Rentals. We sent an email asking about parking when we checked in, and did not get an answer seven hours.
Later I was cheerfully notified by "Morgan" at Coastline Beach Rentals I'd broken a lamp. I explained it was broken when we got there. Then I received a lengthy email lecture from "Morgan" saying I should have read the rental agreement before I signed it, because it plainly states to "Take photos of damage in the room when you check in." What??? The hotels we stay in, damage in rooms is not an issue. (I'm curious how many times that lamp has been bought and paid for.) We're 65 years old. We don't break lamps. Avoid Coastline Rentals.
