Tiny Home with Observatory near Rodeo, New Mexico & Portal, AZ
10/10 Excellent
"Valley View Getaway and Observatory is a wonderful place to stay for a variety of reasons. If you're an amateur (or even a professional) astronomer, you will love the opportunity to practice your hobby under the darkest skies in the United States. If you like the stars, but you're not really an astronomer your host, John, will open up his observatory and give you a couple of hours worth of observation time coupled with his excellent knowledge of the Night Sky.If you're not interested in the sky, but you're just looking for a quiet place to get away for a while then this is the place! The cabin is so cozy, clean, and well managed that you can truly enjoy some quiet time communing with nature. (I loved the visits every evening from the local flock of quail.) Even though the place is remote (quite!) and you'd be well advised to bring food and beverage with you for your stay, the cabinet itself is well stocked with all of the other things you might need.To top things off, Valley View Getaway is one of the most affordable options you could possibly ask for. It's an extremely enjoyable place for a couple or a solo traveler. So, what's the downside? Well, you're probably gonna need to wash the dust off of your car when you return home. Personally, I am already looking forward to my next visit!"
Private Estate for Family Reunion, Weddings, Business Retreat, and Vacations
10/10 Excellent
"We just completed a 4 day stay at the Painted Pony Resort, having hosted a wedding weekend celebration for 30 guests. We had the time of our lives, weather was perfect, everyone really enjoyed the location, the venue, local activities and food. The house was incredibly well stocked with an excellent layout for the group. The house had everything we needed for 30 guests to sleep there for 3 nights, serve 3 meals each day, and also host a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. The views, sunsets and star gazing were amazing. The responsiveness and service by the host was excellent. Can’t say enough about the amazing time we all had, with memories to last a lifetime!"
Comfortable, Quiet, and Remote Studio On A Working Ranch In Southern Arizona

"Bigger than I expected. Spotless. Every amenity you could pilossibly need. Perfect location to explore Chiricahua National Monument. Super comfy beds/linens. Great wifi. Very cool property. Couldn't ask for more."
"We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The property is excellent in all ways - everything was spotless, the living quarters and kitchen very spacious, the bedrooms perfect with very comfortable beds, and the bathrooms very good. The check-in process was seamless, communication with the host excellent, and there was a lot of information material on the area available. We especially enjoyed the quiet and fairly remote area - the dark night sky was breathtaking, and there were lots of birds on the property, perfect for us birders. We highly recommend this property and hope we can come back."
"The house was lovely with a great view of the mountains. It was clean inside and out, and had lots of outside seating, which we enjoyed. The kitchen was well equipped too. The hosts were responsive and helpful. It was a quiet and peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting. And it is approx. 40 minutes from the entrance to the beautiful Chiricahua National Monument, where we spent two great days hiking. There was only one negative: Fragrance from laundry products in the sheets and towels, which was quite strong and bothered us. So if you are sensitive to fragrances, be sure to tell the hosts."
